Am I off saying Gudas was the Panthers MVP of the series? I never said he was better than MacAvoy…….WTF. He was rag dolling the Bruins and getting in their face much like us in the Vancouver series. Does this simplify my comment?????????

I know what you meant - Gudas would be excellent 6th guy though

He’s buds believe it or not with Krejci and also Pasta. Not sure about Zacha or Nosek. He’s cheap has bounced around but has a specific skill set

Puck is a grenade but he’s a master at net front D and avoiding penalties

He’s what he is and I like it and have targeted him here for about 10 years when my daughter told me about him and DK

Bruins fans unfortunately would be all over him full season

Charlie McAvoy, came back from a major shoulder surgery in the off-season and he played pretty well. Reasons why I do not trade him anywhere:

Joe Thornton
Tyler Seguin
Dougie Hamilton
Blake Wheeler (At least his trade brought Boston a cup)

Yeah I had to go there, I know?

I got more but also, and McAvoy is only 25. Just hitting his prime. He's still going to have to improve his shot and up his game in the playoffs. He's going to have to prove it.

He was the only one going after the Panthers. Smoking them with some good body checks. Didn’t see anyone else bring it. Too bad he got hurt. You could tell after the injury he wasn’t the same. Bodes well for the team if he takes that mind set instead of the offensive angle.

I didn’t find him overall to be that impactful overall. Annoying. Had several games with 7+ hits and Delivered some big hits. But also sucked big time in his own end at times.

On the physical side, For me the physical impact of Bennett was greater, despite being cheap and after the whistle often.

overall what sticks with me is while Barkov was quiet:
- Bob in net
- Montour’s offense from the blue line
- and unexpected depth from Lundell,Lousterinin, Verhaege, etc….helped them take advantage of sloppy bruins play.

Still feel the bruins lost the series more than Florida won it. But the thoughts above are where I see Fla rising up to win.

Why, so he can be injured more often?

In 6 seasons Charlie has played over 67 games only once as it is. Playing an even more physical game wouldn't be optimal in my view.

Bob in net had .791 save percentage in the series, worse than Ullmark's. Gave up over 4 goals a game.

Unexpected from Verhaeghe? He was a 42 goal scorer this season, led the Panthers in goals.

Although being physical and throwing checks can lead to injuries, with Charlie I think it lies more with him having a target on his back every time he steps on the ice. He's one of the beast all around defensemen in the world and teams game plan against him and punish him every chance they get.

Not so sure that's true.

Most of the top defensemen would be subjected to that treatment too. Yet most of them don't miss time.

Eric Karlsson played all 82 games this season. Dougie Hamilton played 82. Adam Fox & Brent Burns also played 82. Even big hitter like Brenden Dillion, Jacob Trouba, Adam Larsson, Daryl Nurse and Bryden McNabb played 82 games.

Depth. Depth.

Saying In addition to Verhaeghe…

Lundell and Listo and others surprised me with their ability to create havoc and generate scoring chances.

Yeah, Bob stole games as the playoffs wore on. Not so much against the Bs other than a few timely saves

Listed Verhaeghe as depth.

Did not say depth in addition to Verhaeghe.

Game 1 - 8 hits
Game 2 - 4 hits
Game 3 - 8 hits
Game 4 - 5 hits
Game 5 - 4 hits and 30+min
Game 6 - 0 hits
Game 7 - 0 hits

Isn't hard to figure when he got injured.
I was sitting with Jesse and who was early member here, is in the SIM League who a Lot of HF folks - he got hurt game 5 defensive zone by Bruins bench and Jesse looked at me and casually said ‘there goes his shoulder’

Yup
