DK. I'm not saying he is overall terrible, but this was not the McAvoy we are accustomed to. His MO is being safe and efficient with the puck out of the zone and he literally couldn't make a basic tape to tape pass to save his life. Either he was injured or he choked badly...

A GM like Sweeney that signed him to the deal. There is always a team or three out there looking for young Dmen locked up. I still think there are many teams that would take him on and give a nice return.

He’s no choker - he stepped into Ottawa series from college basically, was excellent in 2019 run

Choking is a character assasination to an athlete - it’s like branding an individual a racist

I stopped counting how many players I’ve read on the multiple threads who are called chokers

Maybe I’m to old but none are chokers to me - one tipped shot in game 7, a missed breakaway, a cross bar - and all of a sudden all these Bruins fans want guys gone

It really really really sucks but I’m not hating or have to have s body on a slab to feel good

After 2013, 2014, 2019, 2020 and 2023 all Finals or Pres Trophy I enjoy it and know only 1 team can win

In all seriousness here, do you think he banged himself up throwing all those big hits in the first 3-4 games? I wondered about that, because it was not like him to kind of disappear the way he did.

Yes - I’ll talk to Jessie (he’s in SIM league) because he went to all 4 games with me and it all blurs together - but we had a McAvoy got hurt there in game discussion and Jess said it’s the shoulder again I bet

Probably game 5 but we were watching him a few shifts after

Maybe it was nothing but it clearly was a noticeable hit

He also got hit in head and because I’m so close I thought he looked dazed and eyes blinking rapidly - but no doctor and I could have just been way off

My premise is only way they lose is injury so kinda always focusing on that part on big hits

He got 9m thanks to secondary assist on Pastrnak´s goals.

Lindholm is better than him, 3m cheaper and isn't on record saying that he hates the Bruins.

When you get outplayed by Brandon Montour, then something is definitely wrong. And not just game seven. For whole series
That big tackle in start of the game 3 or 4 was his best play in whole series. That gave them great start to take driving seat for rest of the series. Then they turn to passengers again after game 4.

I still like McAvoy a lot but I want him to do so much more. In defence zone I want him to just flatten people and take a puck away. He's not so skilled on O-zone so maybe concentrate more on playing D. Bruins needed that Offensive D weapon a'la Krug (but just not Krug of course). Montour already has 6 goals.

Before I dump on Charlie I want to know why he played so badly in Games 6 & 7.

I suspect a problem with the shoulder that was operated on- throughout the regular season he routinely passed up a lot of chances to bury opponents that he almost always took in previous seasons.
