Don't need to see this guy wear the spoked B for another game. Move him for anything.

Not a fan of CM73 as captain. He was putrid tonight. He is too small to play as reckelss as he does. He takes up alot of cap for a guy who struggles in his own end. I am not sold on him at all. I think he is wildly over valued for what he actually delivers.
Doesn't help that he just can't shoot. Never been able to, even before he turned pro.

Don’t want to be reactive. Not going to use this game to judge his overall ability as a player.

But I can’t remember a worse performance in a game 7 than what I saw from Charlie tonight. He was absolutely brutal in every aspect of the game from puck drop.

Just a legendary level of awful.

Him and Orlov had my heart in my throat every time they hit the ice. Awful doesn't begin to describe it this series.

Which game was it (game 3?) where he actually started hitting again? Not sure why that was just a one off thing.

Orlov is just a huge risk taker. But at least he’s assertive.

McAvoy was every bad characteristic for a defenseman in a single package. By the third, I was actually becoming impressed with how terrible he looked.

A) no, and reading here I understand.
B) He did not force the bruins to pay him 9.5 M!! That is his market value.
Then why are you implying he should receive better treatment from idiots posting on message boards? It's our fault he got market rate?

I question his ability to be a winner. Seems like he's been a massive loser in just about every playoff run we've had
With what this man cap hit is going to be moving forward you can’t justify it in anyway. He brings nothing to the o fence literally nothing. Doesn’t shoot the puck and when it’s time to play big he tucks his tail in between his legs just like the rest of them. None of this is an overreaction he is not a #1 dman on a cup winning team and he never will be. I hope we all enjoy that cap hit because no help is coming. Franchise d man step up they play big an show heart. Disgraceful was his performance tonight

Bruins MVP and future Captain. I'd make him captain as soon as Bergeron retires (this summer) and have Marchy mentor him.
You sure about that?

The defense as a whole were horrid all playoffs. It starts with Charlie. He isn't all to blame for sure but I am certainly worried about his cap hit and what he actually brings to the table.

Pairing him with Grzelcyk really paid off .:laugh::laugh:
When he played with aging Chara he played like a top pair D.
With Grzelcyk yesterday it was an utter shambles, erratic, had no composure, overpaid 3rd pair D level at best.
But hey, advanced statistics during the regular season were through the roof.

Well he did play pretty much exclusively with Orlov yesterday.

Part I find funny about McAvoy. He looks good with Chara, and after Chara his best partner his has been Gryz.

Meanwhile he's looked god-awful with both Lindholm and Orlov, two supposedly stronger players.

I'm starting to wonder if McAvoy is just a hard D-man to play with.

Monty's need to screw with the D pairings from the trade deadline on really came to bite them in the playoffs. It is clear that Orlov-McAvoy was a toxic pair and McAvoy tends to try and put the entire D on his back when things get sticky and he falls apart. He was also playing far too much because Lindholm, Clifton and Forbort were no shows.

I think seeing a sports psych might be a good thing for McAvoy to consider. He gets in his own head and when he does, it is ugly.
