Give Coyle Wags. Sixth on the team for goals. Two behind Krech and 3 behind JDB 5 on 5, playing less minutes with Kuraly and Acciari. Guy has hands, speed, hits and forechecks. Switch Backes and him, been saying it for a week and he keeps proving it. #Free Wags
Heinen - Coyle - Wags, when everyone is back

I though this was Coyle's worst game as a Bruin. The games are starting to add up without ANY contribution on the score board. I was all on board for the trade but are we starting to see why Charlie was available?

Not worried at all. Still passes the eye test and underlying numbers look good. Remember in 2014/15 when everyone laughed at the Hawks for picking up Vermette at the deadline who then scored 3 points in 19 regular season games? Ended up being key piece for a Stanley Cup winning team.

Does anyone like seeing a big guy not use his size to his and the teams advantage? I'm seeing absolutely nothing to like with Coyle. No push, no physicality, no fight, no compete, no fire, no desire. Sure seems like someone else we had a few years back...

Haha.... He's use his size to his advantage all the time. Do you watch him protect the puck? He's always using his big frame to keep defenders off, and he does it well. I get it... You found a new little shtick to harp on Charlie Coyle by (poorly) comparing his to Hayes and now he's your new flavor of hate since you can't rag on Heinen at the moment. You tried with Grzelcyk but that backfired hard as f***.

Here's a little bit of advice... Stop trying to find a player to crap on because you get some high and mighty attitude from it. It's beyond tiring. Let me stress that: BEYOND. TIRING.

It would be nice to get some points on the ledger here. Charlie has been exceptionally unlucky so far, though. PDO with Boston is 95%. That is not a skill based stat and regresses to around 100. It certainly doesn't help that he is being asked to carry Backes, who has 1g, 2a in his last 20 gp. Coyle is a decent player but he's carrying a boat anchor on his back. Most of the time he has Nordstrom on the other side, who has all of 0 points his last 20 games.

So Coyles most prominent wings have 1 g and 2 a in the 26 man games played prior to his arrival and we cant figure out why he's not scoring. Bergeron would struggle to point up points in that environment. Coyle is just not good enough to overcome that. Having Jake, Pasta and Mojo back will see his production tick up considerably.

Seven games? That’s some restraint right there.

I would have lost the over/under on this. Probably would have said three/four games max.

Give the guy someone to play with. Black hole Backes is a 4th liner bad fighter and Celly is not stepping up.

Sure 3 injured guys will help Krech but I was looking for help for Coyle in his thread. Black hole is harsh but pretty accurate when he is tied with Chara, Nordstrom, Forsbacka Karlsson, Acciari and Moore with 8 total even strength pts. I mean Carlo is one pt behind him 5 0n 5, put the guys were they belong. They need to get some more goals and chemistry.

He has been stuck with Backes since day 1

Backes has helped produce zero points for Frederic, JFK, Kuraly .... or just a few.

Is this fair?

Cehlarik Krejci Coyle
Heinen Krejci Coyle
Cehlarik Coyle Heinen

Would produce points... for sure

I’ll judge his offense when he’s playing with wingers that can actually produce. At least put Kuhlman and Senyshyn in the lineup to give the middle 6 more speed. If those two can’t produce than it’s no different than Backes and Nordstrom.

I like what I'm seeing from Coyle. The points will come with a healthy bruin team.

This is a good player.
When he was acquired and it was announced who he was playing with , many here, myself included felt bad for him as he was hardly gift wrapped offensively gifted players to play with. I wonder how many of those who said they felt bad for him are the very one`s now complaining about his lack of production?

He and Cehlarik had some nice rushes together first period / Cassidy at 0ne point rewarded the line with some extra time...I turned the game off after the first period so not sure wtf happened to that line thereafter. Couldn't have been good.

I agree with another poster. It appears anyone paired with Backes can't get anything going....We saw this with Nordstrom, Heinen, Donato, Krejci, Pasta, Kuhlman, Wagner/Kuraly, now it's Coyle and Cehlarik.

There's plenty of evidence to say Backes is a problem on this team. With every game you can see it. Going to be interesting to see if Backes plays when everyone is back healthy. He's not going to disrupt that 4th line. No way!

I thought he played alright last night. I only noticed one bad turnover when he was carrying the puck through the neutral zone and got stripped. Other than that he was generating chances and seemed to be clicking pretty well with Backes. I don't think he looked as dangerous offensively as he has in past games but definitely not bad.

I was pretty surprised to see him benched. I don't know if this is Cassidy's way to try to get him producing or what. Seemed like a weird decision to me at the time but I guess you can't argue with the results.

I'd like to see him pot one or at least get on the scoresheet soon. He's been really unlucky so far with some of the chances he's been creating. Once he gets one I think he'll be fine. Obviously some skill on the wings would be helpful but that's probably not happening until DeBrusk, Johansson and Pasta are back.

Injuries have very much hurt Coyle. He hasn't exactly had the chance to develop chemistry with a set line. That was very obvious last night. He was expecting players to be in certain places, but one was failing to move his skates because he's old and slow, and the other one had defense favoring him because they had no fear of the old man scoring.

I had some hope for the third line last night. I know Bruce was upset with them, but the third line strategy last night stunk in the Ozone. There needed to be more movement. There needed to be some switching up between Backes down low and Cehlarik. It was stagnant and no threat to score because it was so easy to defend. Not sure if the strategy was used to mask Backes' lack of wheels, or if it was just stupidity and poor recognition. Hopefully tonight some adjustments are made. Coyle has been doing well considering he has been playing under some pretty crappy circumstances. Kind of foolish to be dogging the guy all things considered. I'll judge him when (or if) he ever plays with legit top 9 talent with top 9 speed on BOTH wings.
