You're still holding onto the fact that Laraque was about as useless of an enforcer as any in history. Don't act like he's this devastating fighter because he isn't. The Bruins are the reason that idiot isn't in the NHL.

The guy was brought in by the Habs to enforce but would rather say "Hey man, would you like to fight tonight? "Nope" "Ok, i'm going to skate sluggishly up the ice, not provide anything and end the night -2"

Only a Montreal fan would bring something like this up which is false by the way. Have fun with Andrew Shaw being your toughest guy though!

I'm willing to back up my opinion. The responses I'm getting from some of you are that it's late, end of story. When I actually point out that the puck was not far away from Backes, that Ritchie had him lined up before the puck was even off his stick, and that the time between the hit and the puck leaving his stick was short, you just reiterate that it's late.

Which isn't actually helpful to the discussion, because you are just regurgitating the same crap again and again, despite actual evidence. If you want to ignore the evidence and just stick to your "it's late" argument, I'm not going to stop you, but maybe try backing up your opinion.

Yeah, buddy, I know he wasn't innocent in the altercation. He didn't run or deliberately avoid any fight is the point. Chara kept it going after it was over, because gorilla gonna gorilla. Doesn't mean the victim had a real choice there.

Did you miss the part where I was responding directly to the post where you called it a late hit?

Is this really what it has become? You taking shots at me, and avoiding the actual evidence? The fact I responded to a post where you called it a late hit, but you're just going to ignore that and accuse me of being blind to the whole situation.

If you care to look at any of my posts you’ll see the use of IMO and “opinion” fairly well throughout. I believe I’m entitled to have an opinion.

Of course you were kind enough to tell me my opinion was wrong. I believe you even said it was a “fact” that my opinion was wrong.

Your homework assignment today is to look up definition of fact, opinion, irony, and hypocrite.

Can you report back? Should be interesting.

I said it was a fact that a player following through on a shot is eligible to be hit. It is a fact.

There is no rule that stipulates shooting the puck makes you ineligible for a check.

You labeling that as your opinion isn't a defense. It might be an opinion, but it's clearly a wrong one, and it can be proven as such. Saying "IMO" isn't some blanket defense against saying something that is wrong.

No, what this has become is you clinging to me adding the word "late" to Ritchie's hit and disregarding the next paragraph where I describe what was the Getzlaf Chara incident, because I guess one word >>>>>> an entire paragraph, in terms of the message I was trying to convey. But you knew that already.
You are just hanging on desperately to one word, in order to avoid having to discuss the Chara Getzlaf incident because you well know that Getzlaf 1) cowardly slashed Chara 2) proceeded to try to backpedal outta Dodge. In simple words, your captain acted very cowardly, but you prefer to try to point this towards whether the Ritchie hit was late or not for obvious reasons.
Take note of this, because I will not repeat it ad nauseum.

You're actually bitching at me because I wanted to address a certain point of a post you made, which somehow means I'm grasping at straws because you've said other things in the thread too? Do you know how ridiculous that sounds? You're telling me I can't respond to something you said, because you want to discuss something else instead.

If you don't want someone to address a specific point you make then don't make it.

Well he's not but you guys bickering over a hit is silly. It's not even your fault either of you. Back when I played we had like a 3 stride or 3 second rule or something to that effect. Nobody knows what a late hit is anymore just like goalie interference. It's nobodys fault but the NHL
