I have no problem when a player on my team gets wrecked by a clean hit, and that hit was clean. It's hockey. You expect to see players on your team get obliterated sometimes.

I think the hit was late and whether the hit was a head or shoulder as primary contact is a rorschach test. Certainly frustrating to come out of a game with Backes with a concussion and Bjork getting injured on a cross check to the forearm (although, that crosscheck was just a "crap happens" kind of play). Anyway, the Ducks are the ONE team the Bruins can't complain about injuries to.

Certainly frustrating to come out of a game with Backes with a concussion and Bjork getting injured on a cross check to the forearm (although, that crosscheck was just a "crap happens" kind of play). Anyway, the Ducks are the ONE team the Bruins can't complain about injuries to.

I mean, not really. I've seen the evidence being leaned on that it was a hit to the head. It's a video of such poor quality that you actually have to believe it's physically possible for Ritchie's shoulder to go through Backes' shoulder. The replays with any kind of decent resolution, including one from the same angle, shows a shoulder to shoulder hit.

Forcibly moving the official is abuse of official, and it carries a three game suspension. There is a huge difference between taking a minor penalty, and putting yourself in position to be suspended for stupidity. I would think that would be obvious to you.

Your argument is beyond stupid. I'm not saying Getzlaf was trying to be an angel there. I'm saying he wasn't willing to get suspended just to fight Chara.

People saying Getzlaf was ready to fight must not see the fact that he kept his gloves on the entire time where as Chara dropped them instantly. There's being a homer, and then there's being flat out wrong.

Getzlaf gave Chara a whack, then went high with a crosscheck. I like Getzlaf, but he didn't want anything to do with Chara in that situation.

Also, McQuaid issued a challenge to Ritchie after the hit and Ritchie immediately skated to the bench. Can't blame him there, either.
