We were right there
Brown is classy, he would never do that.
Kopitar might though.
Just had a funny vision of Kopitar going to the media and just blistering him

I'll hold off on making any judgement until we see what changes occur. Knowing how competitive Luc and Blake were on the ice, I don't think the results of the past three years sits well with them.
Hey, maybe Blakey can bring Nordstrom back into the fold

Being released doesn't mean they're terrible. These guys tend to have a shelf life. DL has been GM for a decade, that's an eternity in sports, and Sutter has been coach since December '11.
Both are awesome and will do great things elsewhere, but it's pretty clear they were done here. This isn't like, say, firing Gerard Gallant.
Nothing but love for both men. No Sutter, Lombardi, Bob Miller in LA next year, 50th anniversary celebration was an ushering of change. Who knows who else from the staff is gone? There's still Futa, John Stevens, Davis Payne...

Absolutely. End of the best era in Kings history.
Maybe Futa will be assistant GM now? Possibly a tandem GM plan going, to make up for Blake's relative inexperience?
So Mayor called this. Which also means there's probably a good chance we try to bring Voynov back...

Why do you think it's the end? I don't think this means we are rebuilding, this means the higher powers believe we still have a window with this core and Lombardi and Sutter weren't accomplishing anything in that window the past 3 seasons.
Just look at the Oilers from 10 years ago, Avalanche now, they hired the good OL boys and it drove the org right into the ditch.
How long until Brown starts dropping bombs about Sutter in the locker room?
Absolutely. End of the best era in Kings history.
