Stay on topic people.

I hate Francis so I hope he's wrong but sounds like Monahan is going to get more than all of his comparables that signed this summer.

I was hoping for some magic to happen but if he signs for 8 years I don't really care.

I'd be very okay with anything under 7 for 8 years. Closer it gets to 7, less ecstatic I get, but still happy to have him locked up long term.

Probably best sign for Flames. I was expecting him to hold out longer to wait for JG deal. Ill say 6 mil for Monahan and 7 for JG

Clearly they're waiting for the Vesey domino to fall :sarcasm:
Winner

Neutral fan jumping in. Monahan was a 60 point center at 20 and then essentially reproduced that at 21. No knock on Scheifele but right now they are roughly similar in production with one being 2 years younger.

I'll take Monahan over Sheifele right now

Agreed.. And I'd die to have either on the centerless CBJ :D

Good for CGY. Always love seeing smaller Canadian markets lock up young stars long-term.

CGY, EDM and WPG battles are gonna be like the mid-'80s. Should be fun.

Wonder if Gaudreau now signs for the same term? 7 years, 50 million (7.14 per)? Would be a helluva job by Treliving if the numbers came in around there.
