So you want what Rielly is worth as a START?
Welp there is no there defender that we would take off your team in trade to begin with. That isnt going to happen ,so no trade to be had here We dont need magic beans ,or maybe,s .

You mean the guy who played more in the first few games. Ceci's highest ice times were against Germany and Slovakia. Once the games actually got tough and important, it was a different story.

Group stage vs Finland TOI

Ceci: 15:49
Rielly: 21:35

Quarter-Finals vs Sweden

Ceci: 17:37
Rielly: 19:39

Semi-Finals vs USA

Ceci: 15:59
Rielly: 22:11

Gold Medal game vs Finland

Ceci: 15:59
Rielly: 25:53

When Rielly plays 10 minutes more in the Championship game...I think it's pretty clear who was on the top pair.

Rielly played more the first game, then Ceci led the team in ice time the next 4 games. Then Murray was added and 4/7 d-men were right-handed and starved for ice time.

Ideally, it would have been nice to see the scenario play out with a regular 6 defensemen dressed tournament instead of 7.

The only way a trade for Ceci happens for the Sens is if we include one of Matthews, Rielly, Marner or Nylander and since Ceci obviously isn't worth that, there's no trade to be made.

Sens would be stupid not to ask for one of those guys in return and the leafs would be stupid to give up one of those guys.

/thread
Yes obviously :shakehead

This thread has major potential to go south - quick. Insert popcorn smiley here.
:popcorn:The leafs need another year in the basement ,they seem to think their rebuild will go from one bad season to a cup within the same year .Far too much hype

Can you quote anybody who seriously said that or are you talking out of your ass?

....and yet Rielly still played a hell of alot more than Ceci in the most important games.

I don't really give a toss what the Leafs need to do or not do to be perfectly honest. :)

At least you agree which shouldn't be a surprised because Ceci very clearly would never return a player like the 4 I mentioned
And why would we trade him for anything other than Matthews??Potential is one thing actually getting there is another. As of right now Ceci is a 22 year old top 4 defender that plays in the nhl and has proven he belongs there. The other have played a handful of nhl games

Good for him ,Ellis a team canada veteran was promised ice time, and Ceci lost his due to this not due to bad play .Reilly has more games as a number 1 on a thin blueline, Ceci has a norris trophy winner ahead of him

By your own logic, you wouldn't even trade Ceci for Matthews... you say one thing then contradict it later

What have kids that havent played an NHL game done to be worth more than a young nhl defender??I get Toronto wouldnt trade them as they are in a rebuild ,but to suggest he isnt worth anyone on that list .Is still pretty shortsighted .Young good RHD are worth their weight in gold ,dispite what you may believe Ceci is one of those

Oh. I must have missed where Karlsson played on team Canada.

Lol some sens fans say that Ceci got more ice time and that's why he is better than Rielly then when they get proven wrong, they have a myriad of excuses as to why Ceci actually didn't get the playing time. None of which include that he was outplayed.

Admit, Rielly is better than Ceci. It's not a huge deal to admit another team has a better player. you guys have a defenseman that is better than any of our dman or prospects could ever hope to be.

Counter-Proposal:

To Sens:
William Nylander

To Leafs:
Mikael Wikstrand
Gabriel Gagne
Matt Puempel
Ben Harpur
2nd Round Pick 2019

Sens likely get the best player, but the Leafs get a tonne of depth of guys who technically could become NHL players. Wikstrand is a highly touted blue-line prospect who on the right team could possibly be an NHLer. In Harpur and Gagne you get two big-time prospects (by big-time I mean tall) on defence and up-front. Add in a sniping former first round pick in Matt Puempel and a 2nd round pick that could be the next Subban, O'Reilly, or Weber, and I think on balance this tips in Toronto's favour. But I like Nylander a lot so I'm willing to overpay.

I get what you're trying to do... and these posts never go over well but I hope you don't think that offer is equal value to the Leafs offer.

He is a very good one as well ,he was in the nhl at 20 years old and then proceeded to drag around two non nhl calibre defenders for the next two season .He isnt some marginal guy that he is being painted out to be

Who is painting him out to be a marginal defenseman?
I can't have a discussion with someone who is going to put words in my mouth.

Why not?? puemple scored 30 as rookie in the ahl ,this season he had some injuries but still managed to put up 17 in the 34 ahl games he played this season .He is not unlike many low firsts/high 2nd rounders .Which is what most of what you guys are offering us for a young nhl defender
