Any guesses which players will still get a D1 scholarship this year? A lot to go if CCHL wants to hit 50 this year.

You think we hit 50 D1 scholarships each year ?

So far what, 4 players committed and who's to say if those are scholarships.

No I do not think we will hit 50 commitments. I think it was the commissioner who tweeted see if we can hit 50 this year. I am just wondering who all these players are that would make that list.

Ah, OK, sorry about that.

This whole thing is starting to feel ridiculous, like the pump and dump penny stocks of the 80's....and we all know how that turned out.

You got it!!!!....Kings and Grads taking steps backwards...
Kanata going in right direction....finally Rangers get sold...

Kings definitely in trouble. Attended last Sunday Kings/Rangers game & Rangers were in the game up to final 2 minutes. Deserved better outcome!

Rumor around rink was coaching staff on short leash.. given until end of November to turn things around.

PLK faithful having trouble remembering last time Kings were battling for last place!!!

Tough to turn things around with the limited talent the coaching staff is given to work with. Feeling for the coaching staff. As was previously stated recruitment is not great. There is no buzz in the PMC these days about the Kings. Fan base continues to dwindle.

Does PLK not have any prospects sitting in the CCHL2 or U18? I think the current Captain of the U18 team,(NM) will bring some interest for the future. Valley boy doing very well.

Goaltending Stats

The Bears’ goaltending have now recorded their 3rd shutout this season. B. Dobson has completed 2 shutouts in 2/4 of his last starts. Dobson has the league’s leading GAA of 2.23 while his teamate, B. Kitchen is in the league’s Top Five with a GAA of 2.71. The Bears don’t have the best Goals Against in the league in which that honour is currently with Brockville. SF is only 2 goals back along with Carleton Place.

Shorthanded Goals

Both Cornwall and Smiths Falls have scored 4 shorthanded goals this season with Hawkesbury & Otawa close behind. All of G Cooper, C. Busschaert & J. Smith have tallied twice while killing off a penalty.

Where is the Penalty Box?

Of the players who have not sat anytime in the penalty box this season, there is only one player of that list who has scored more than 10 points- Adam Alavi, Kemptville. For players over 10 points and 2 PIMs - C. Busshaert (17); M. Flechette (12); C. Varney(11); D. Rinaldo(10); T Conrad (10); J. Henry(10). Within the Top 25 scoreres there are 3 players who have only recorded 4 PIMs.

Note: Credit for this posting goes to Ron who posted Where is the penalty box anyway? for the OJHL Discussion Board.

Colts' Inactive Players

See Tanner Spinks deleted from Cornwall roster ....if I am reading right ....where did he go?

In the past, the Colts' Pointstreak show injured & healthy scratches as Inactive players. Other league teams continue to show injured players as Active players. I might be wrong but I would not read too much into Spinks’ absence. As of Sunday, Spinks is showing as an active player plus shows on the pregame lineup. Both Spinks & St. Germain played on the 20th but then were absent from the lineup on the 21rst. Poirier has been out of the lineup since the 16th & Baird, since the 13th.

He didn't play Friday night but in lineup for tonight against Pembroke. Didn't he play for CCHL team last night against Oswego? Maybe coach being nice so he is well rested for that game and allowing some younger forwards to get another game in.

League numbers are down for sure. Average attendance does take a hit due to the Showcase games however overall the individual game attendance is also down in all markets. The fans are no longer the main consumers in this league. 10 of the 12 teams bring in more revenue from player fees than they do with season ticket holders/attendance figures. CP the 3 time league champs average around 350 fans per game. The 2013/14 season when CP achieved a league record of 110 points their average attendance was 334. City based teams have always struggled to fill seats. If the league is getting better then why don't more people attend?

For not much more money you can go to a 67's game and see better hockey and your HEO minor hockey playing kid gets in free...Only Jr A games I have ever gone to are to see kids we know play....can't imagine going otherwise.

Then again even the Sens are struggling to put people in seats so far this year...

To many teams(to many city area teams).
The hockey is just good not great.
Not enough local players. Why go to a game to see kids from the USA.
To much to get in. To watch the above.
To much other hockey to watch. Senators (NHL), Major Junior (67's), Youth hockey, Most people go to see kids they know or their boy played against.
Rink has parents, friends and girl friends that is about it.

Changes coming to the Braves?

From the Brockville News Recorder

"If last year is any indication, Traylen is willing to make moves at a moment’s notice and he doesn’t like to wait for wins. Birkas at one point was willing to wait. Not anymore."

Anyone from Cumberland here? I see from poinstreak that Alex Renaud is back, how long has he been back and how has he looked so far. He should improve the Grads.

Grads announced his arrival on Twitter 4 days ago and it will take more then one guy to turn Grads around. If Grads don't turn it around, I imagine they will be trading some of their better players before trade deadline.

Get Cumberland to stop trading away players that want to play OHL and maybe the team would improve.

Try being a development team/league for the players. Let the player get better then send them to the league that is best suited for the player (OHL or NCAA).

Who are the players in question that are looking to play in the OHL?

I see Franche got traded recently, but he had committed to a NCAA team.
