Tugnutt ?

Anyone know what's up with Matt Tugnutt. He didn't finish the Jr A tournament and missed a game last night ?

Raiders Schedule Changes?

Apparently the Ottawa 67s are being booted from the Civic Centre for the Davis Cup event. Games are being relocated to the Nepean Sportsplex.

The Raiders are currently scheduled to play Sunday afternoon games @ 2:30 PM on Jan 29 & Feb 3. The potential conflict on Wed. Feb 8 is uncertain as the 67s might not play at the Nepean Sportsplex. A posted rumour is the Raiders accepted the financial offering. What are the details for these originally scheduled Raiders games?

Lumberkings win 3 in a row :)

PLK...And lost 2 to good teams.
Was at the game Sunday after missing a few games.
Same old, same old.
CPC nice team to watch...crisp passing and a system.
Coaches are in tune with what's on the ice at all times.

Hopefully they can string a few more together.

As for CPC they are a machine, always tough to play against.

Trade Season Open

Renaud (97) from Rangers goes to OJS for Cole Lavoie (98) and JS Boyer (99). Rangers trading experience for youth, OJS trading for this year's run.

First deadline coming in December, so what size does roster have to be and does anyone expect any trades that will make an impact to standings? Very tight race right now and if it stays this way then playoffs should be fun to watch.

Not very often at this time of season do you see the last place team only 8 pts out of playoffs. Because of this I do not predict many trades within league. More apt to see 20yr olds from a different league on a non playoff team in their league coming in via trades. History once again shows teams like Corn, CP, Ott, and Hawk are good at this because of their recruiting and contacts around the country. Just my opinion. Negative side to this is HEO players are the ones likely to suffer because they will be sent down to CCHL2 or U18 at deadline if only PDF goes the other way in one of these deals. I predict the gap will start spreading shortly between these top 4 and the rest of the league

Second Providence commit in as many years from the CCHL, seems as though Hockey East is paying a little more attention to the league. He'll almost certainly be in the USHL next year.

Merrick Rippon. Great get for Providence. Great kid, tough as nails, and a leader. No primadonna here.

Braves trade

Braves trade Vince Renda to the Brooks Bandits. It was less than two months ago they were touting his return as a savior. Braves were once an organization kids wanted to play for.

2016 world junior a challenge

Good representation from CCHL on Team Canada East. I think all invites from CCHL made the cut.

http://www.hockeycanada.ca/en-ca/Na...ld-Junior-A/2016/Stats/team-rosters?teamid=37

The breakdown of the team is as follows:
CCHL (11); LHJAAAQ (4); Maritimes (1); NOJHL ( 0 ); OJHL ( 6)
All 11 invitees from the CCHL made the team.

Team Canada East will play in a group with the Czech Republic & USA. The tournament starts Dec.11 & ends Dec. 17.

1st Roster Cut Down Day

Is today the day the teams have to have their first roster cutdown ? If so, what is the number and do people feel it is still relevant now that the "club" system has opened up lots of other opportunities to keep players close.

The 2016 World Junior A Challenge Gold Medal match-up on Saturday is between the USA and Team Canada East. The U.S. is into the final for the seventh time in its 10 appearances at the tournament; it has never lost when playing for gold.

The USA defeated Russia 4-2 while Team Canada East won 2-1 in OT. Saint-Jérôme Panthères’ Lucas Thierus scored the winning goal in OT plus assisted on the only other Team Canada East goal.
