2018 Fred Page Cup

With Ottawa hosting it does anyone think it should be held at Td Arena.

Happy New Years everyone. Hopefully the parity of this league will continue and it should be real interesting right to the final week. Ten days until deadline so it will be interesting to see how many transactions happen. I see Renaud from Cumberland is playing in the Q so does that make Grads a seller ? If so Hebert, Salloum and Frechette and others maybe the piece that teams need to push for the championship.

Horvath

Does anyone know what's up with Horvath on the Lasers. As a former first overall pick you would expect quite a bit this year and he has not played since October ?

R Murphy to Braves

And Reid Murphy was sent to Brockville, no details on what that trade was for.

No info on the Nepean/Braves trade but it was to fill a roster spot that had been vacated.

Transaction page of the GOJHL Jr. B report,
“12/31/16 Wright, Austin (F) added to team from Brockville Braves (CCHL)â€
http://gojhlcms.stats.pointstreak.com/transactions.html?leagueid=668&seasonid=16158&numtrans=all

Wright has played 2 games this week for Niagara. He played with Brockville for 1 month.

Looks like it might be a quiet trade deadline with standings being so close. I see on Twitter that Hawkesbury has picked up a big 1996 D from the BCHL, Tyler Cooper 6'5" 205 pounds. Not sure if we will see any big trades within league unless a team becomes a big seller and focuses on following years. There are players on each bottom half team that could help top teams give an extra push in playoffs but I guess it all depends what you have to give up to get them.

WITH THESE PLAYER MOVES:. I think PLKs are trying to keep what fan base they have left. Keep some interest on the ice.
They're not going anywhere this year.............AGAIN.

Kemptville seemed to be the most active at the deadline dealing 97D York to GLO for 97D Hunter, 97D Raby to CMB for PDF and acquiring 98D Bastasian from OJS for PDF. Had heard rumours of Martin from GLO going to HWK but don't think that panned out.

W Rawski

Will Rawski

This player is currently on Carleton Place’s roster http://www.stratfordbeaconherald.co...ckey-league-appeal-to-join-stratford-warriors

CP acquired this player from another Jr. A team & then tried to loan this player to a GOJHL team, Stratford. However, his GOJHL rights were with another Jr. B team, Brantford. Stratford tried to complete a deal after the trade deadline but the latter wanted the player on their team. The player appealed to the OHA who declined his application so that his GOJHL rights remain with Brantford. CP stated the player will be placed with a CCHL2 team.

The article states, 'The Carleton Place Canadians acquired Rawski Jan. 9, but the Central Canada Hockey League team wanted him for next season.'

Reid Murphy.....6th team

Is this typical in the CC? Can't be good for schooling even though he may still be living with his parents. That's a lot of travelling.

This is his final year so Brockville might have thought he could help for the playoff push. As for the first few years in CCHL, I have no clue what his history is. Switched in minor hockey as well before CCHL.

It will be interesting to watch a few battles for playoffs spots Ottawa and Cornwall battling for 2nd spot and the most interesting will be the 4 teams ( Smiths Falls, Nepean, Kanata and Cumberland) battling for 7th and 8th spot. What format is CCHL using for playoffs this year since it has changed past few years.

I heard he had shoulder surgery and it was scheduled months ahead so wasn't due an actual injury that happened in CCHL this year. He had other shoulder done a few years ago. Kemptville is really missing him.

Yeah, I think he injured it during a pre-season game with Cedar Rapids of the USHL. I heard he then came home to play again for Kemptville (I think with a shoulder brace) while awaiting surgery. He most likely would have wound up playing Div 1 for Lake Superior State of the WCHA next season (he still might) if he hadn't injured his shoulder, although I think they now may prefer he play one more season of Junior A to get completely back in shape and ready to play at that level. If he does play Junior A again next season, he may wind up in Cedar Rapids.

Seeking clarification on the AP rule?

The Colts’ roster has 24 players including an AP, V. Robillard. This AP player has been with the team since Sept. 4, played his 11th game on Nov. 13 and has now played 20 games with the Colts. It was my understanding that 10 games are the maximum games for an AP player & once the maximum is exceeded the player has to remain with the higher team. But why are the Colts allowed to exceed the 23 player maximum after Jan. 10? Is this a loophole that the Colts ownership are using to their advantage?

As an aside, what team is Robillard affiliated? Elite Propsects don’t show him playing for any other team this season besides the Colts.
