Anyone heard anything more?

The Braves new owner is an x-nhler that played for the Leafs (hope they don't play like them) lol. As for the new coach in Kanata Iob he was not there the weekend of the scandal as he was away with his son in a Tourney.
Tony did coach Renfrew for 2yrs won a Valley Division title and has a TON of hky experience and is about development of players. Is Iob the answer or is it the front office the problem but who know's time will tell. I think Kanat needs another overhaul but that's my opinion which probably means JACK .......

Did anybody hear what x-coach Findlay's new gig is from his twitter Acct?

Brockville Braves

There is lots of rumours with the potential sale of the Brockville Braves. IMO it is the 3rd most valuable franchise in the CCHL. However, there is no hard agreement, at this time.

It is all speculation. There is only a bone fide sale when the current owners / governors approve an agreement. I understand there is good interest in owning the Big Bad Braves. A sale will be good for the team and the League.

John Gilmer fantastic performance today in Pembroke giving up only 2 goals and making huge saves on a number of odd man rushes. The game winner was the empty netter.

Definitely good game on the kid. Should have been named 2nd star not 3rd.

IMO my Braves have to win 7 of their remaining games
They are a better team then they have been showing but like any
Other team penalties have cost us

And to answer an earlier question. Smith falls tweeted earlier this week that kanatas x-coach
Findlay has joined with Grady

Good for Findlay... Not that I am a Grady fan but it will do Findlay good to get in with an experienced coach and learn from him. I believe that is what he wanted when joining Kanata with Dewan and we all know how that turned out...

If the Major Juniors players get they way and end up being paid that's going to lead to players wanting to be paid at all levels which will hurt many jr a leagues such as CCHL.

Less likely to happen below Major Junior since players would lose NCAA eligibility.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I've heard the real difference between Major Junior and the CCHL is there wont be a "Mcdavid" playing in the CCHL. I know this is a bit off topic, but just wondering the level difference.

Like how would CP fare in the OHL or Q?

CP would compete against the bottom teams of the ChL
However I stress BOTTOM TEAMS ...CP is hard to compete with in the cchl
But not for for a memcup

I agree with you but certain CP players could play at that level. I think both CP goalies could play.

I think every team in the league has a handful of players that could play Major Junior IMO.
A lot of things would factor into not going. (Style of play, Late bloomer/NCAA preference, and its a #'s game. Only so many spots)

Jolly, you focus too much on goalies... Good goalies look better on good teams! I think both CP goalies and others inleague would do good on good CHL and look average on bad ones.

wow…sure had gone quiet on this board lately….8-10 games left. I would have thought the chatter would be building ….

Lets discuss playoff "sleepers"…I"ll make my call…Kemptville is one team that may pull of an upset in round 2 this year….(they will win their best of 3 qualifier round easily)

Not sure they will even have to play a qualifier. I predict they will finish ahead of SF... not sure their Gs can handle Pembroke offence in a best of 7.

Sure is quiet, 10 days south and haven't missed a thing

I agree kemptville will beat out smith falls
Very tight and interesting race for the last 3 weeks...!

Cornwall has to be disappointed with their overall performance
Fred page cup team? IMO no!

Kanata continues to struggle..no saviour in tony iob..
Problem clearly still intact

Hawksbury looks to be on a hot streak heading into the run
Can Dorval finally have success end of season?

CP champions again, Ottawa is to predictable not a deep team, pembroke to many hot heads, cornwall not strong enough on the back end, hawksbury doubtful

This is actually a four team battle for 6th place. SF and Kemptville have been terrible over the last 7 games while Gloucester and Brockville have played above .500:

SF 2/5
Kemptville 1/6
Gloucester 5/2
Brockville 4/3

Brockville also has 2 games in hand.

Going forward, SF plays 2 games against a top 4 team, Kemptville plays 4, Gloucester plays 3 and Brockville plays 3.

Kemptville has the toughest schedule remaining, so I don't see them catching SF, who I think will hold onto 6th place.

Should be some exciting hockey!!!!

You have to feel for SF losing McCartney, Douf and Groulx. Not many teams have the depth so survive that.

Where is Groulx? Is he injured? I did not see his name the last couple games with 67's? or maybe I missed it?

I dont think you will see his name on a 67's game sheet again this year ,rumour is that he asked for trade at the deadline back in January... he may have burned that bridge !

Good game in Brockville last night,Kemptville was better team for most of game outshooting Braves by even more than scoresheet says, Taylor was good in net and Braves capitalized on chances. A couple of controversial calls went against Kemptville, end of first Owen Guy looked like he scored when took a shot late in 1st and late in second looked like 73's scored in a scramble but neither time goal judges put lights on and refs seemed to be out of position (hard to tell from far end but many of the players on ice stopped with Guy celebrating)..... The second one was especially controversial with Kemptville staff/players petty upset (from my viewpoint behind net it sure looked to be well across the line), there were a couple of teams of minor hockey players from South Grenville behind Brockville net who proceeded to boo ref and goal judge when no goal was announced, never seen that before. 73's are really struggling to get a win right now.
