Rumor has it that Hawkins has been relieved of his duties as GM however is apparently still working in the background. Have heard from players and parents that he is being an ignorant a$$ to the coaches and players. Parents have personally called Cory Greer advising him that kids are gonna quit, future prospects are not going to play. Hill and Hawkins have made a joke of this team more than it already was.
Mr. ABRAMS needs to step in as commissioner and do something.

Clearly your a parent of a player if you have that type of information coming from players
Everyone knows there are issues. However.... I don't think this is the place for sour parents

There is absolutely nothing wrong with what Hockeyscout24 said whatsoever. Look a couple pages back and see my explanation on Kanata if you think what he said was bad, its all truth, John Hill and Hawkins have turned it into a midget/juvenile caliber team. Wake up Kevin, sort it out.
Well when they announce the new league tomorrow, maybe Kanata will be their first AAA midget Club

It is terrible was they have done to the team. I am not saying it was good before they got there but they certainly made it worse.
If I was a parent and had to pay that amount of $$$ for my kid to play, The Commissioner would certainly be hearing from me.

I feel bad for the players, coaches and others involved. Not a good scene....
It is not a good scene in Kanata, at this time. However, what do you expect Kevin Abrams to do ? There is no law against bad management / ownership. Perhaps the Kanata GM and advisors are not getting the support from the owner. No one truly knows what is going on here. It is a very difficult situation.
That being said, this has been a very good year in the CCHL this year. Any team can win on any given night, except Kanata. Congrats to Kemptville for recently defeating CPC. The 73's are on a roll.
A lot of (negative) things can be said about the John Russo years. Nonetheless, Mr. Russo was at every game and he spent personal $$$$ in an attempt to get better.
What would you want or expect the League to do ?
Some mis-information Eddy, Russo was not at a game since the Fred Page year, and even then he stopped going after about 10 games in when his kid recieved a concussion that kept him out till the FP.
Vince sr never was back to a game or even the KRC since the FP. That being said, John Hill is the majority owner not Corey Greer. John Hill is the problem regardless of how clueless Hawkins is, NOTHING happens with out John "Heil" Hill pushing the button. The team is in shambles, you can point directly at John Hill.

See I don't know everything......as I did not know John Hill was a majority owner.... Why is it that the announcement last year from the Commissioner stated that Cory Greer was the owner. With John Hill the majority owner, maybe his buddy Tasso (Ottawa JR B) is also in there somehow.
Regardless, it is a sad situation. Like I said before I feel for the players, parents and coaches.
Could be interesting to see what happens at the end of their season.
My prediction: Players will quit, coaches will quit and newly acquired/drafted players will not report next year. Or maybe they won't be in the new league..
Like I said previously, once Hill took over, everyone from the GM and coaches to the handicapped assistant equipment manager quit after the conclusion of last season
The question remains: what can the League / Commissioner do about the sad state of affairs in Kanata ?
Nothing I guess. Guess we will just have to wait and see what happens next season...........could be interesting when kids do not report...existing and new....
Unfortunately, I predict you will be wrong. They will report and even if they don't there will be a line up out the door to take their place.
I have seen this scenario play out in hockey for 20 years. People say that they won't go if this coach, or if this player, or if this GM is there.
In the end, the dream of pro hockey wins out and 99% of people will not give up that dream regardless of the situation.
And if you need more proof, check out the Blind River Beavers. People from Ottawa have sent their kids to play for this team, and look as the results.

There are bad teams in every league across Canada. Believe it or not, Blind River had some good teams in years past and it was a destination of choice for a lot of kids. They had really good attendance.
I think that most people that follow the CCHL cannot remember that Kanata was also good at one time but they have been really bad for the last few years.
Is it ownership, scouting, coaching or a combination of all three??
When you point out where in the rules it states "only speak about what Tarzan says " then I guess we will all have to follow, however it is a forum dedicated to the CCHL, of which Kanata is part of.........

Just looking for a little diversity. We all know kanata has issues, coaches owners, GM, whatever. The way you ding-a-lings go on, one would think that the CCHL sucks. Just thought you brilliant intellects could disect something else for a change. It's OK though, I'll go read what Cheetah has to say. Surely he can have an original idea!
I don't think any one of us said the CCHL sucks. Actually it is a very good league with the odd exception
Easy with best team in league. Many of the 22 other Gs would've done as good!
