How do transactions get announced? Is there a page where its updated continually because the transaction link on CCHL website is not the best.

You can follow individual teams twitter accounts. They are fairly up to date with new transactions.
There are a few twitter pages too that aren't affiliated with a particular team, but broadcasters on FastHockey who follow the league.

Very true. Look at what happens there, James now has a 10.37 GAA and .0667 save % in limited play. He'll surely do better, but it's awful for goalies in the Quebec league. 5.00 GAA suddenly looks good there. Luckily there are NO NCAA scouts watching there.
That is a tough go. For James, coming off major hip surgery, playing in a run-and-gun league has a chance to damage his rehab and shatter his confidence. I can understand wanting to get the games in, but he'd may have been better off skating with the Colts, working with the goalie coach, and playing some games at Junior B. At least the games in junior b would allow him to play conservatively and exercise strong fundamentals.

Another thing, is I know for a fact that the Montreal team only practices twice a week with no special teams/positional ice time training. I can't see James being ahead at all come April.

Colts are gonna struggle

IM as no interest in doing well all he wants is to fill his wallet. He wants only local kids so there is no billets to pay that's why he as gone through 20 AP players this season. He owes everybody around town money, he doesn't pay his bills, fights with staff all the time. Don't look for any deals from him, he's alrteady got his excuses ready. The Colts are gonna suck in the playoffs and seriously struggle in the Fred Page.

Colts struggle part II

I find it interesting to see Mr. Benson (Automotive Parts Giant) behind the Colts bench (hmm). Is IM ready to sell and take all his money with him & skate into the sunset. He has had 2 years to get ready for the Fred Page, it doesn't seem like he is interested. No moves this year even though everybody around is trying to get better but not IM.

The Colts don't have a top 15 point getter, he losses to teams that he should beat (thank God for Kanata). Lots of local talent that just shouldn't be there (McDonald, Derouchie, McFarlane, Mulhearn,)

This team was once was a power now it's onto dark days ahead.

For the heck of it just checked shots per game results totaling them for all goalies in both leagues .You ever think Quebec goalies arent great ,if you go by save percentages not many even approaching the 90 . In terms of total shots in a game cchl 58.42 and the lhjaaaq 67.53 so about 4 per team. Does that qualify as a shooting gallery to you

Save% and GAA are irrelevant stats. All depends on team and what system they play. Where shots are coming from. Are they really scoring chances. In Qc, a lot of odd man rushes...

SV% is a pretty good way to justify a goaltenders ability if you ask me lol. Doesn't matter what league.

Good ballpark for junior goalies but not precise enough to confirm the quality of a goalie. Play with best team in league and shots will be easier to stop than on weaker team. You end up getting 15-30 relatively easy shots per game vs. 30-40 night in night out.

How many scoring chances does Ottawa & CP give up every game compared to other teams ?

Maybe Benson just wants a trip to Pembroke Sunday to see his new store and move the team to Petawawa.....lol

The problem in Kanata is/has been p/poor managment, it has only continued (gotten worse) with John Hill and his buddy Hawkins from the Nistico years.

They've had good coaches and scouts, but as mentioned earlier, what are they to do with what managment does personel wise?

Hill made a dumb trade last year as soon as he bought the team while Kanata was flirting with a p/o spot, getting nothing in return at the time (Plouffe deal) then was unable to ice a full line-up regularly going short or dressing 15 year olds, immediate nose dive in the standings.

Coaches, trainers, a/trainer and previous manager walked as a result of John Hill's dictatorship (not to mention Dewan after 8 games into this year), I think the concession guy wanted to leave too!

The writing was on the wall with how things were going to run after last seaon with Hill in charge, so two top guys went south of the border (Laburn, Myllari)

Hill then basically dumped every JrA calibre player from the roster except for Ian Johnston and Langlois, turning it into a Midget/Juvenile team at best.

If stockpiling draft picks, and thinking that's going to lead to success alone, he's wrong again, based on how he's running things now best of luck recruiting anyone from out of area to his trainwreck, nothing appealing about going there.

They've got a top guy in their Head scout that recieves no direction, no budget and is never asked for advice, Hill and Hawkins do the "scouting" which basically means attending Jr B games and acting like big shot execs, and well, we see the results of the on ice product.

If I was paying 3-5 grand for my kid to play hockey....yikes, there are better alternatives, that's for sure, I feel for the kids caught up in that mess.

Maybe he caught wind that the OHL may move back to Cornwall? Plymouth is shopping for a new home. If they do, say goodbye to fans at your Tier II games.

Off the Boards: Does Cornwall have any upcoming local talent that will be joining the team in the future that will be worthwhile? Who is in the system that will be making the jump to the Colts in the future?

the only transaction/deal that really puzzled me was SF's Mccartney going to Athens.
Im sure there is something we dont know here. Could be school related?
I remember him committing to Queens last spring?!

Imo it's not just more shots, it's that there's typically no defenceman near the goalie when the breakaways or odd man rushes occur. There's less checking, it's run and gun. Where the shots are taken and under what circumstances make these games wild scoring affairs that don't begin to resemble CCHL games. Look at the stats for a good Q goalie like Kevin Darveau and you'll see what I mean.

Brennan Markell of the Char-Lan Rebels. Markell is a very smart F, 41 points in 29 GP. Not the biggest, but high intelligence and solid skill. Local kid, too.

If you are using Darveau as an example he is very consistent in any league -under .90 . Never found him to be a great goalie anyways.Getting less then 29 shots per game with Longueuil which has a good defensive style and yeah if you are unfortunate enough to watch Montreal teams like lachine or St Leonard you do see a ton of breakaways but I'm guessing teams like kanata and Cumberland also do.

Just look at their January 11 results. 63 goals scored by 12 teams including 13-0 win by Sherbrooke, also 8-7 etc. that is my definition of a shooting galary.
