I believe he committed before playing any Jr A games.
Is he any good? A lot of different teams played for in last couple years is not a good sign.

Being a commit doesn't necessarily show anything. If your parents are rich and you are a grade A student, I bet you can call Harvard and get a commitment! You will practice with the team, most likely sit out games but they will gladly take your money.
Umhh a degree from Harvard is not a bad thing!
Speaking of which, does anyone know what happened to Francois Lemmellin who committed to Harvard for this season. He is not on their roster, or any other that I can find.

From today's SJHL transactions page:
The Kindersley Klippers acquire 96 F Francois Lemelin from the Hawkesbury Hawks of the CCHL for future considerations.
He started the season in Minnesota (NAHL), played 1 game and was released. Not sure where he's been since.
Was always strong in minor hockey (always one of the bigger players). Has done absolutely nothing in junior.
Ha, what were the odds that the day I asked he gets traded.
So do you think he was "uncommitted" from Harvard, or just differed.
Of course, just saying being committed is not necessarily an acknowledgement of hockey talent! Nor does it mean FULL SCHOLARSHIP!
Yes PDF. The interest and visibility is already in place based on academics. It is better to play in the QJHL than to sit on the bench in the CCHL. There is always drama on the Colts in regards to goalies. The current situation is no different. Nichol may be better than Dubblestyne but he needs an opportunity to play too.
Eddy is right. A lot of the lack of NCAA is due to academics. They don't have the right courses in school due to Quebec's different high school system. Look at Gadoury. Committed to Northeastern, but learned he didn't have the right courses to pass clearinghouse. Also a lot of guys just go to the Q aswell, and blow their eligibility. The pace of play is fairly similar to the CCHL. Just a different style.
If Pembroke had such good goaltending then why did they reach out and deal for Piccolino? Goaltending isn't and wasn't the issue at Pembroke, it's their lack of defense. If they improve their D by Jan, they could cause some problems.
It looks like the Kings will be going with Piccolino as Joel is heading to Nova Scotia, also Fraser Turner is coming back from the Q

What did the Kings get from whom for Joel. Don't see the trade listed. Surely he wasn't released?
Seriously Kanata....... HAWKINS needs to go....... The team is brutal. Not much a coaching staff can do with that talent.....

just looking for hockey info, not slander
No kidding. Everyone looking to hang Hawkins for what, inheriting a crappy team with little to no prospects.
They have sucked for years, thinking that a one season turn around was in the cards is crazy.

Being reported on the MHL site, Pictou County acquired both Joel Horodziejczyk & Dylan Staples from Pembroke. Isn't D. Staples attending school in North Bay?

QJHL, worst place to get NCAA visibility, especially for goalies!!!
