2 in a row? What's going on

Spoke to another coach in the league today
Kanatas head coach is former Cornwall colt Findlay who
Started as assistant to Dewan
His assistant is Brent Sullivan former Brockville
Brave

Can't imagine there's much experience between them
But hey - just knocked off Ottawa twice

I haven't heard of either Findlay or Sullivan coaching anywhere before this. But good on them. They were both great players in their day. I believe Findlay went on to play NCAA Division 1 and I think Sullivan played OHL. Good on them to bring their game experience to Kanata. Maybe finally the boys will have some commitment and consistency.
Did they fire Kennedy? Or did management finally figure out he wasn't committed?

Bad break for the kid. Traded to the North and to a team who is getting shellacked every game. He played both games this weekend and gave up 10 goals. Welcome to Blind River !

So true. He'd be much better off staying in the Eojhl in Junior B with a chance to move back up. Blind River should be disbanded , they're that bad.

Shock and Awe. Kanata 2 vs OJS 0 final BIG win. Huge.

The Lazers and coaching staff (??) have just earned a ton of respect from 11 teams.

Congrats to Brian Wilson G on a well earned 40 save shut out.

Indeed. Kudos to the team on not giving up.

Sullivan was an Assistant Coach two seasons ago in Kemptville with Pat Malloy.

They have only lost 17 in a row and given up 123 goals. No reason to panic yet. And they have lots of imports from Ottawa so they can't be that bad. :sarcasm:

Ha! Good one! The only thing worse would be getting traded to the "new" outlaw league, the CIJHL , aligned with the AAU in the U.S. in the lowest U.S. junior tier 3 league. You can't even see the box scores because they won't print them, supposedly because they don't actually have full rosters. And in the NOJHL one of the owners was removed and the rink locks changed for new owners who own teams in the original outlaw league. Sounds like Ripleys should do a feature there, Believe it or not!:amazed:

was told the new date to "get to 23" was Nov 2.....perhaps erroneous?

That would be new...I thought December was the date that CJHL teams had to solidify their 25 man roster

*Dec. 1 CJHL roster cut down. All Canadian Junior Hockey League teams must have their rosters down to 25 players.

*Jan. 10, 2015 — CJHL trade deadline, including rosters cut down to 23 players.

With the NEW coach running his lines, no long shifts, or bad changes. keep puck to the out side. they should win 8 TO 10 games.

Love it! lose two games to the bottom team in league and move up a spot in the cjhl rankings. Never took them seriously but really?

The branch can impose other restrictions. For example the OHA prevents Jr B and C from carrying more than 23 players so there is no cutdown date.

So in our case, HEO would have had to pass a motion at the AGM. This would have further restricted the Jr teams. To pass any motion at HEO you need the majority of the votes from Jr teams.

Long story short, there is no way this happened.

CCHL teams are only permitted 23 carded players this season, can bump up to 24 for a two week period.

Central Canada Cup Challenge

How does G Hughes get in the roster when he's only played 6 games and is listed as an AP ?

For a young team and one who has stated they are rebuilding, winning 8-10 games is not so bad. Especially also for a rookie coach. Can't get blood from stones. Players need to embrace, listen and learn. During the off season management needs to build. Get players that should be there and get rid of players that should mot be there.
It is definately a learning curve for all involved.

Good luck to all of them
