So true. He'd be much better off staying in the Eojhl in Junior B with a chance to move back up. Blind River should be disbanded , they're that bad.

All leagues have their Kanatas

I have no allegiance to either, but I have to call BS on that one. You can not compare Kanata to Blindriver.
Kanata has competed in some games this year, Blind River is 18 losses in a row and a 130 GA in those games.
Last game they had 12 skaters...they are almost done I would say.

CCHL teams are only permitted 23 carded players this season, can bump up to 24 for a two week period.

Interesting and I had not heard that. Looking at Point Streak almost every team is carrying 24 (Cornwall only 18!).

I assume Jr B is still 25 based on their PS rosters, but who knows....

Cornwall changes their "active" roster before each game to represent who is playing that night.....so if someone is injured or sitting out they will apear in the "inactive" area....so its tough to know who is carded unless they were released or traded

Very good. And there are a number of key players on the IR list.

I wasn't comparing them. Every league has a bad franchise. As is Kanata's turn in the CC so is BR in the NO. My point was that they are both bad.
I have no allegiance either.

Was anyone at the Cornwall/Kananta game last night? Just wondering how it was. I know the final score was 7-4 for Cornwall. But it also appears that Kanata might have played a good game. Pretty even with shots 40 (C) -34 (K) and only 7 penalties total for the game.

Kanata played well in the first period, but fell apart after that.Darcy definitely has his work cut out for him,but they are improving.

Looks like GM/Owner Steve Barban will be on the bench today alongside Ass. GM Marc Franche. From what I was told, Mayo was fired, he did not leave the team, but I could be wrong.

Quick thoughts

Kemptville/Cumberland:
Mayo out, rumours on new guy? Intern clasped today
Kemptville with another offensive breakout. Very impressive

Kanata/CP:
Shots were even, CP had 2 on the power play and none in the last half
Very surprising tight game other wise? Different kanata team or total lack of CP
Presence?

Hawksbury/nepean:
Huge two points for the hawks. Creates a seperation in
The standings between the two.

It is not a coaching issue in Cumberland. It is a "scouting" and recruiting issue. It is a lack of talent. Look at Peter Goulet in Nepean. He has a new team and they are competitive, year after year. Mr. Barban needs to bring in experienced, hard working and respected hockey staff.

OR…maybe Mr. Barban cares about one thing and we all know what that is!

Cumberland
Rumour is that the new coach will be unveiled later this week and that he most recently coached pro in Japan

Cumberland has talent....perhaps not enough to win the league but certainly to compete - the issue is lack of basic systems and team play. They have digressed considerably from the opening weekend and with a lack of structure have become a team of individuals

Raiders
Not sure if Nepean is as competitive as expected or described above....they have lost seven of their past eight games and slipped below .500

Mr Barban also needs to give his coaches the freedom to coach. Jamie Mayo was forced to keep Barban's son on the team where he clearly does not belong. When will owners stop using their teams as personal vehicles for their children? ... Silly me .... Never.

Hawks 8 Braves 3

Now that is a spanking. And it could have been worse.

What is the issue in Brockville ?

Goal tending ? D ?

I cannot remember at any level 6 goals in one period. I do not understand how coach Ward would leave Poirier in net for 7 goals. The puck stopper's confidence will be ruined.

Congrats to Hawks. They continue to surprise this season.

Eddy, given your extensive knowledge of the recent history of the CCHL, Im surprised that you forgot that the 73s laid a 6 spot in the first against Cumberland on Sunday. Kudos to the Hawks and 73s for displaying their offensive prowess

Totally agree. Jamie is a good coach with experience, but that organization is a joke.

That was good too. The 73's look promising. The parity in the league this year is amazing.

Perhaps the Lasers can steal another game tonight from OJS. That would be appreciated by the 10 teams chasing 2nd place.

Extensive knowledge ? No more than the average hockey fan on here. It has been an interesting year so far.

Go Lasers Go !!!!!

That's a first this year - someone cheering
On the lasers

It certainly isn't a stretch for them to win tonight - they stole 2 a couple weeks back
They compete each night. If they can figure out their goaltending status since the departure of Skinner
I think they'd have more wins

I personally believe they will surprise a lot of people in the second half

What' do you think eddy?
