Again, time will tell with kanata
Give it a few years ?
Or bash them - I'm not going to lose sleep my teams doing just fine :)

No point everyone being computer arm chair gm's

With that last post however of hill spending money on Collins
So what ?
That's exactly how CP and Pembroke win
Pembrokes roster after the holidays is half what they start with

Same ending every year. Teams with money spend and win

73's have have had some pretty good players out of the lineup due to injury like Brown, Seatter, Galasso, Haasbeek plus the Blais issue they had to deal with. All teams go through this but they seem to have been hit really hard early in the season. If they could get healthy I still think they can be a decent team.

If Kanata could get 73,s Manger to run that team, and a New coach, in 2 years they would be in TOP 5.

I dont understand how you can knock kennedy in such short time

Management ok we've seen there moves so far, but Kennedy needs some slack and time
You must be a sour ex player or parent
Everyone has to agree some one needs more then 2 weeks before calling him out

HAHAHA! They (73's) have never been top 5 so why would 73's guys turn Kanata around? They need to worry about Kemptville. If you want a good GM they are taken or owners, Clarke, MacInnis, Goulet and sadly Malloy (former 73) in PLK is showing when he has a say and $ he can do good things.
Kanata is young and bad. Keeping those players around and learning to win is their real uphill battle.

Great point hawkeye!
The best point I've read on here so far

I don't think keeping the Boys in kanata will be a problem
Where would they go? Not to other jr A teams that's for sure. They
Are given a chance right now some shouldn't have

Maybe juniorC as mentioned earlier by our jrB lover?!
Jokes...

Oh the joys of this chatter...

Ghantous handed one-game suspension

To be totally honest, I never agreed with those that bashed Ghantous as a dirty player, preferring to believe that it was more a case of a big man playing with boys that got him a few more GMs that he should have but this story caught my eye a few minutes ago - Ghantous handed one-game suspension by Atlantic Hockey.

This too though might be more a case of his lack of speed catching up to him at this level of hockey more that any intent to injure on his part but let the debate begin anew...

Stittsville should be doing better. Afraid the goaltending is not quite up to par but they should be good by the end of the season if they can get some stronger D to help out.
Smith Falls is in dire need of a goalie or two! They should be much closer in games as they have some firepower upfront but tough when the puck is in your own net or your own zone that much.
Perth needs a major overhaul. Am happy that they are operating but they seem to be the mirror of Kanata minus the very poor management that Kanata has. Would be a great time for Perth to step up and make some moves. Can not complain about the top line but after that they need some experienced leaders from Goal on out! Find myself cheering for them when I look at the scores. They need to land a few big fish to help out. Starting in net and working out. They keep promoting the forwards but you have to be able to get them the puck. Who are the best available Junior Goalies at the moment?

Goalie

So who are the best goalies still available that are better than goalies on teams already? Why are they not being picked up by the teams that really need them?

Anybody with half a brain can see that it is management/ownership that is killing this team....not coaching.

It is very difficult to evaluate/compare the GM's in this league, they all work under a different set of rules. Some are owners/coach/GM and have big budgets to work with while others are GM's only with very small budgets. There is a big difference being GM in Pembroke or GM in Cornwall vs being GM in Cumberland or GM in Kanata, different pressures and expectations, not to mention budgets, different levels of control. If you were to put some of the GM's in the more successful teams in the same situation as some of the less successful teams or vice versa I am not sure the results would be much different. Sometimes circumstances have more to do with the outcome than anything else.

Hey ottawafan 66 get your head out of your ..... they have a yes man not a coach.

Thanks for confirming that the issue is management.

And I'm sorry that Kennedy cut your kid, or ran over your dog, or.........(insert grievance here).

Actually both of you are right. It is clearly management / ownership that has created a lot of the issues. It makes John Russo (former owner) look like GM of the year. And that man was not well liked among the league, coaches and players. I think they would welcome him back with open arms, at this time.

And Greg has to listen to the management / ownership, he is their employee. If one of my employees said "no". They would be walked out of the building.

Kanata will find their way. Greg is a very good coach at any level. He needs resources to bolster the roster. Unfortunately, at this time of year he only has access to cast offs and released players. Players get released because they are not very good or they are problem childs.

Everyone just relax. They have a lot of money at risk and they will figure it out. Give Greg a chance.

Finally some people that are making sense :)

Mr. "Blue" must have some terrible experience with someone in the Kanata organization.

But as mentioned, give it time. Whether its in 2 month, next year, or 2016.
Nothing is done over night. And if some one feels they can change the world why not submit your name to coach, or purchase the team.
The organization has clearly chosen a direction and gone young. If you don't agree with them so be it, they'll have 100 fans in the stands vs 101.

Go Braves !

They traded for a second starter. Are neither of them up for this level? They both played 45 plus games last year.

I don't get that either ???? Both are good goalies. In fact, the crease is crowded. There are now two starts, it will be difficult to keep them both happy.

It appears to be a D issue. And it is amazing if your Offence dominates.

It is a game of puck possession.

They had a young back-up they played once and then put on trade wire. Do you think the Bears' plan is to make Pinios (or even Skinner) mid-season trade-bait?

My thoughts exactly.

If Skinner proves himself, I believe he has a longer shelf life (95 VS 94) then they could trade Pinios for assets as they approach the dead line.

It could end up biting the Bears in the end. Skinner wanted out of Kanata for increased exposure to an NCAA commitment. If he plays well enough to make Pinios tradeable, that could lead to his commitment and he could be out of there by year end. Right now, his play hasn't been strong enough to lead to that. But definitely, it could be a possible scenario where the Bears have no goalies for the start of next season.

If Pinios grabs the reins again, that could bury Skinner with less starts and exposure. The Bears are all about winning and making the play-offs. They won't move Pinios if he is showing he's the better goalie. In that case, they'll have an under-exposed and under-utilized over-age goalie in Skinner, to start the season next year.
