Unless he's looking towards next year, where he would almost definitely be the starter.
Could be. He's an over-ager next year, and Smiths Falls may keep him as a default even if he only plays a few games this year. But will he develop while sitting for the season (unless he can take over from Pinios)? And if he doesn't play, does Smiths Falls want to waste an over-ager slot on a back-up goalie. I guess it depends on the market next year.

My guess is Smiths Falls tries to pull a stud in from out west or major junior next season, if Skinner doesn't play much this season. If he does play and takes over from Pinios, then he'll have set himself up well. A bit of a gamble, in one way, cause your depending on the over-ager goalie stumbling big time.

There are at least 5 teams with over-agers as their starters this year, so it's likely that SF would keep him on. And he is definitely starter material. Assuming he doesn't take the starting job from Pinios, he'll still play close to 20 games this year.

Was 1-5 there in BCHL last year, went to Dauphin Kings camp this year, released there and signed as Free Agent apparently after Dauphin Kings. Before that played at Rice Memorial in the US Prep School League.

Does anyone know why Center Jesse Blais has been out of the line up for the last two weeks. He should have been their best player this year, disappointing start and now not playing since Sept 14th ?

Word is he wants out. Heard he wasn't happy with his playing time or role and is sitting out until he gets moved.

I know he was appealing the exhibition games he played in Gatineau. I guess NCAA was OK with it.[/QUOTE.

So how many others will try to do this now. Plain ridiculous actually play exhibition games do at least a week of camp and then say oops changed my mind? Now major junior teams can say ,hey ,that 48 hour thing - don't worry about it.:handclap:

Well to be fair he was 17 at the time I believe. Most kids have not heard anything from the NCAA in the rookie year so if they are given the chance to play major junior then they go. It is unfortunate to the players that play an exhibition game when they are 16 or 17 then lose all illegibility in the NCAA. They should make it if you play a REGULAR season game before the age of 18 then you lose your eligibility, after 18 let the current rule apply. There is no point in ruining a kids chance to further his hockey career because of a exhibition game he played when he was 16 or 17.

I see Hiley played Saturday for Kemptville and is now on the roster. He also played in the EOJHL on Sunday for Stittsville. How does that work, can you be on both rosters or is he maybe AP'd with Kemptville ?

Most likely an AP, you can not be on two rosters.

Hard not to pick JC. Only 8 players returned from last year's winning team and still a top team in this league (if not the country).

It would be difficult to argue that point. However, look at the 8 (quality) players that have returned. No doubt CPC will have another memorable year. Top 5 in the country.

They looked disinterested yesterday and that could be a problem. It is not a state secret that one of their guys is a now a problem child. Jason is looking to move the problem.

Congrats to Gloucester. Not often team 9 beats the number 1 team. Other than Kanata, it appears that parity is the word this year. Any team can win on any given day. Yesterday it was team Rangers and a very good goalie.

Interesting, as one of the moves you referred to scored the winner against him yesterday. Sometimes revenge is a good motivator...

Jesse Blais has been traded to Pembroke for Brodey Barkley and Jason Tackett.

Nepean 5 CPC 3 (with an EN goal)

What do you think is going on ? No time to panic but it is not the same team.

Let's not lose sight of the fact that CP probably wins this game if either Therien or Clarke are in net. This was Desjardins first ever Junior A game (3rd Junior start at any level). My biggest concern would be the health of Therien.

Looks like Clarke did play (couldn't understand why they would have started Desjardins), so forget everything I said except for the Therien part at the end. And last season, CP lost to Hawkesbury twice and to Gloucester and Cumberland. I wouldn't worry about them too much just yet.

That was odd about the starting goalie ??? Pointstreak had Desjardins and the (Nepean) announcer identified the CPC goalie as Clarke.

And you are right, no one is worrying about CPC....they will be there in the end. It is a different team. They are certainly not as dominant as last year, yet.

No one should underestimate Jason.

1) Any idea whats going on with Kemptville? They have struggled as of late.

2) Big W by Kanata last night. Another newgoalie in nets.

3) SmithFalls hasn't had a geat start either. Anyone have some rink talk?

4) Ottawa seem to be clicking its nice to see a city team having success
