What’s the latest on voronkov? Not much production this year. Is the plan for him to come to NA next season?
The organization has ruined his development by:
a) playing hi in the NHL when he wasn't ready;
b) allowing him to stay overseas instead getting acclimated to the NA game;
c) calling him up from the AHL when he's not ready then sending him back down after a few games;
d) doesn't really matter, we ruin everyone's development.

Is Jordan Dumais low key CBJ best prospect ?
Scott Wheeler of The Athletic just posted a story about him to the site this morning. It's titled: "How Blue Jackets prospect Jordan Dumais is proving people wrong". It's a deep dive into whether the experts are wrong about Dumais and why it happened. Just in the middle of it now but so far good stuff...and how he's far more than just a scoring machine.

He is unfortunately a case of prospect about to leave for America, so they will screw with him all year barely playing him...just like Marchenko last year

Well I am happy if he is coming over. He always seems to play well in big games and I think he's a much better player than his stats indicate. He seems like the perfect 4th line center

As long as we have Kuraly here, he's probably going to be 3C.

Actually just looked at his game log, looks like he is playing pretty solid minutes. Numbers look like the Russian Riley Nash :)

He's not better than our D prospects.

Maybe top forward prospect? I would still be hesitant to put Dumais over Marchenko.
Agreed besides being a bit less hesitant. For me personally I've got:

1. Mateychuk
2. Jiricek

3. Dumais
4. Marchenko

5. Ceulemans

Unless I'm forgetting someone those are the clear top 5 right now at least. One's order may vary and I'm definitely not married to that list, I just threw it together without much thought.

Voronkov will be fine. He's a tough player with good skill.

He's after injury and Ak Bars didn't play good. For example Radulov had only 2 assists in 8 games.

Mateychuk is putting up some big minus nights. Is this troubling anyone at this point? Is it a reflection of how much time he’s on the ice? I was under the impression that the Warriors were going to have a really high scoring team this year and would walk a lot of teams. Anybody keeping an eye on this? Team poorly coached?

Havent had a chance to watch them but stat watching I think its safe to say they arent what they thought theyd be thus far. I wish there was a way to see time on ice numbers. Im guessing Mateychuk plays a significant amount so if hes on the ice lots its bound to happen. Their backup goalie doesnt have the best numbers. Hopefully Ill get a chance to see some of their games live

I think Voronkov will make Olivier and Kuraly redundant. Too bad we’re saddled with Kuraly for two more years after this.

Isnt this the way of thinking that is one of the reasons people are souring on Jarmo? He hasnt played in the NHL yet, I dont think we should think about making room for him yet.

The thing is I don’t think Voronkov’s game requires the AHL. He’s not going to be an offensive player. He’s a meat and potatoes grinder and physical player

I think it's been wearing for him. I don't know if there's a way to check TOI for each player in the WHL, but he seems to be playing most minutes of MJ's defense. I've watched almost every game. But we shouldn't use that as an excuse for being on the ice while they're getting scored on, he needs to take better care of defensive details, covering players around their net instead of puck watching, blocking passing seams, etc. He's been part of the problem.

They don't have Korczak on offense anymore who was their other top-6 C and very reliable scorer last year. He and their top-2 defenseman and former captain Daemon Hunt turned pro this summer which have forced younger players to fill their roles. Needless to say the replacements haven't been able to contribute similarly as those 2 have done in the past.

I think too many guys on the team lack pucks skills and it has hampered their transition/possession game noticeably compared to last year. They are having hard time getting out of the zone against top teams, even when they have the 3 most talented players on the ice at the same time (Yager, Firkus, Mateychuk). They certainly lack secondary scoring. Coaches have tried to find the right guy for the W position on the top line to complement Firkus and Yager but nobody seems to be a perfect fit. A lot of sandpaper on the roster and not enough finesse imo. They've put Firkus on the PK units this year which also in part has likely diminished their time/energy for offense.

Very low GF number for MJ this year is still concerning for sure. Interesting to see if they'll inquire other teams for a trade to upgrade the offense at some point or possibly change HC.

@stevo61 I believe TSN will air Moose Jaw @ Medicine Hat next Friday, Nov. 11.
