Bottom pair D. He’s actually pretty good at both ends of the ice, plays physical, just really isn’t that big.

I watched about a dozen or so UM games this year and did notice him almost every game. He is a Danforth like D - unrelenting, sandpaper, good puck retrievals and good vision. Yes is 5’9 but he doesn’t play like he is on the smaller side. I think an upgraded Bayreuther and do believe he has a shot (bottom pairing).
I would have been a huge skeptic
because of his size, if I didn’t watch him multiple times.
I wouldn’t be surprised to see him on a 2-way next season. He is actually good just smaller
I can see him starting in the AHL and be in the NHL before Christmas and sticking. Would not shock me - he is actually that good just undersized. Very good skater, I don’t know if his offensive game transfers but his defensive side definitely will.
Oh great, now we don't have to think about drafting Nemec or Jiricek with the Chicago pick.Next Jared Spurgeon it is.

Honestly, probably pretty close. I don’t know how much upside is there but his floor is pretty solid. I don’t think he ever will get to play the PP here though so offensive production will probably not be as high as it was in college.

Does anyone have any details on the hip injury Tarasov suffered? Is it the type of injury that is fixed with surgery and he never really has to worry about it again during his playing career or is it the type of injury that will very likely dog him for the rest of his pro career?
I would be lying if I said I was not worried about our goalie depth. Jet Greaves is a nice story so far but behind Elvis is Tarry and behind him the cupboard is pretty dry. CBJ have not drafted a goalie since V2 in 2018.

Been trying to catch highlights and connect with a few in Finland about him since draft year. I really enjoy watching how picks develop outside the top 2 rounds (lower expectation, bigger reward...).
Anyone think Tyler Angle gets a shot here this year? Sit Gaunce or even Bemnstrom , I’ve seen enough of them- would like to see a little of Angle at the NHL level. Would hate for him to be A Marchessault 2.0.

I certainly wouldn't mind seeing Angle, but I bristle a bit at the Bemstrom suggestion. Bemstrom is more likely to be the next Marchessault than Angle is. He's just not brand new anymore so he gets the bust treatment.

People are going to love Blankenburg. He’s just such a good dude. Hoping he can find success and carve out a nice career for himself.

HIghly doubt it. Don't think he's shown enough upside to be signed to a deal. Left Minnesota after 3 years (bad time to leave) but likely because he was passed on the depth chart by younger, better players. Has size and is RHD but I don't think CBJ buys on this one.
