We really need to make sure we get him over here

Our guys tend to develop better over there, and my guess is he's still a few years away from being NHL ready. We never have to worry about losing him to waivers if he's in Russia.

I have hopes of a late breakout for Dolzhenkov, like we see from some big men. They often don't pop until age 25 or so. A la Tage Thompson, though Dozer doesn't have that level of skill, maybe Mason Marchment.

It would be fun one day to throw a Voronkov - Lindstrom - Dolzhenkov line on the ice with maybe a defensive pair of Luke Ashton and Elick.

Call it the teddy bear line. They give big hugs.

Yeah I wasn't necessarily meaning to get him over here this off-season, just that we need to make sure that we're getting him over here when he's ready.

a prospect that is entirely flying under the radar on our board is makarov. I get it, he hasn’t put up much offense but like it has been stated before on here, he’s not an offensive defenseman (which those types of d-men are extremely rare in the KHL)

hoping he makes the trek to the US at some point in his career.

He spent most of the year in the VHL after most of last year in the KHL. When looking from afar that doesn't seem like ideal growth

You could sign those guys to AHL tryouts for now?

But I'm not sure it's worth it this early. Neither Makarov or Ivanov look like guys that should come over yet. I think they do a good job with skills training for F and D in Russia and obviously they develop goalies better, so just leave them there.
