I went to the OSU-UM game last night, kind of a boring game until the last few minutes of the third when it went off the rails. Kept watching Kevin Lynch and came away pretty impressed. Good vision and good skating ability, very strong defensively. Most impressive player of the game was probably Jacob Trouba despite a miscue on the power play that led to a shorthanded goal for OSU.

The question is does Lynch have enough offensive ability to merit a contract? He may be a good defender, but unless he's a great defender he won't make it to the NHL without enough offensive ability to at least force the other teams to defend him.

Daniel Zaar had a slow start after being sent down to BIK. He's on the 1st line, as compared to being frequently the extra player for Rögle and some games sitting on the bench but never playing.

In the last two games, he has 4 assists.

It'll be interesting to see if he stays loaned to BIK or goes back to Rögle when Kvalserien starts. (top teams in Allsvenskan play the bottom teams in the SEL).

Dansk has had a horrible year. Concerning.

Yes Iknow erie sucks, but from a lot of accounts he's let in tons of softies.

First year on small rinks and the team is absolutely horrible. Not a good combination to truly make judgement.

He did play at Shattuck...

But, if a team is giving up nearly 40 shots per game, the guy is going to get worn out and give up a soft goal every now and then. Good teams breed great goalies ... Erie is on the rise, next year should be better.

Not to mention he's playing a lot the team is relying on him and McDavid.

Anton Forsberg had a great year in Sweden... for such a young guy (just turned 21)his stats are not far behind what 30 year old Victor Fasth had in the same league prior to coming over to play so well in Anaheim!
I hope Forsberg comes over next year to play a season in the AHL to get used to North american sized ice rinks.

The back-up goalie for Erie was just as bad as Dansk. Erie has forwards who are in the -30s for +/-s. I haven't seen the games, but it doesn't sound like it's all Dansk' fault.

He has problems with consistency- not just game to game, but playing consistently throughout games. He's switched teams nearly every year, traveled around the globe for different coaches. Erie didn't have a goalie coach in the beginning of the year and Ian Clark was traveling out there to help, and I believe Erie has fired their head coach mid-season.

I'd like to see Erie get their act together as a good program, but if they can't Dansk needs to go elsewhere. It's not just the wins and losses, it's whether there's a good coaching staff in place to help him develop.

On a different note, I officially hate Daniel Zaar and his accursed Bofors IK Karlskoga team, who have sealed the fate of my favorite team DIF to face another year in the 2nd tier league.

Zaar played a very good games by the sounds of it (1 assist) and played on BIK's top line.

If Anton Forsberg's Södertälje SK (distant suburb of Stockholm) gets promoted to the SEL while DIF (Stockholm) is in Allsvenskan, it will be a very very weird world. (I used to live outside of Södertälje, but never a SSK fan).

Why has Savard been benched then demoted this year, Is he struggling?
I was thinking he would be a good fit on the Rangers as a #6D/PP specialist from the right side, if he is passed by other D prospects and the price is right.

He made the team as the 7th dman out of camp. Then got in the lineup and was horrible offensively and defensively. Enough was enough. He's not ready for the NHL. He was called out by John Davidson because he wasn't in the best shape.

Savard never has been the fastest skater, but he's looking slower now. It may be conditioning issues or motivation. Being sent down didn't seem to light a fire to get him to play better according to the Springfield fans, so other defensemen are getting recalled ahead of him.

A change of scenery might be good for him. He's not progressing as quickly as other prospects and hasn't took the next step to being able to compete in the NHL.
