The picks are adding up…Arizona would likely get a pick, a contract, and credit towards meeting the cap floor for taking on a contract that insurance would cover most of the actual payment on.
Columbus gets cap space in the off-season for when the LTIR cushion isn't applied.
You see 21 draft picks, I see 21 players Arizona is trading away in the next 3+ yearsThe picks are adding up…

And they had a 1st and three 2nds in ‘21 and a three 1sts and a 2nd in ‘22.
They'll likely need to trade up in the draft rather than using all of them. Or grab a ton of overseas "project" prospects There are issues having that many prospects/contracts at once.
And then you can draft, wait a few years and trade those players in only a few more short years! The picks are adding up…

Let’s definitely give its history back to Winnipeg. It’s been a curse. I’ll take the thrashers history thanks. Please fold this team and give its history back to Winnipeg. 32 teams is too many anyway.
They’ve got an arena to pay for. Big time cash calls this summer. They have to make a $40 payment right after the vote, just to kick off the project. And hundreds of millions from there.I thought Arizona was now spending again? Or at least not a LTIR dumping ground anymore.
I wonder if it’s good or bad for rebuilding teams to have lots of picks and to pick really early in drafts? Is that good or bad?
