I just can't believe what a boring game that was and when Scheifele and Wheeler look like they are just out for a skate they are setting a horrible example for the younger players . All i know is if i was Chevy i would have gone down to the dressing room after and just said REALLY??? That's the effort you are going to give at home when you are apparently trying to get into a playoff spot ??? Then put my cell phone to my ear and walk the f*** out.

I don't know if your serious or not, but this is exactly the type of thing that needs to be done, to get the message across, that this is just "not acceptable."

Watched the fist period and thought we looked off. Chicago was smart, they didn’t get cheap and wake us up. Turned the PVR on and rewatched the beginning of Yellowstone season 4, checked the final score, hit delete and went to bed early.

Good season to break in Heinola and Perfetti.

I'm with you. Really I'm just taking solace in watching the kids and Dubois, JoMo and Conner. The rest is usually a forgettable experience and I've passionate from daylong but this team makes it hard to be positively invested in them.

I pretty much stand by the notion that they need a leadership change in the room ala Minnesota and they need to rebuild the team around speed, puck moving and skill. Change the leadership and bring in the right coach for that approach.

But man after not seeing our other kids for a month it's pretty incredible just how limited Stanley is compared to the other three (Yes I'm including Chisholm in here as well). I'd be looking to parlay him into a middle 6 player with some skill like Debruysk or Tippett.

Yeh it’s definitely a bit disappointing to see the difference between Stanley and the other guys.

Third day in 4 nights so I get that they likely didn't have the same level of energy but our coach compounded that issue by massively overpaying the vets on the b2b over the weekend. You can't have forwards playing 45 minutes combined those games and expecting them to then have sufficient energy.

Stanley comes in off an injury, puts up a 75 xG% and gets berated here.

Scheifele and Wheeler are positive by every metric and score the only goal of the game, while the PLD line gets shelled. Blame Scheifele and Wheeler.

Never change HFJets…

Ya very true so i guess i'll cut the players a little slack but we have lost to or had very tough games against teams we should beat a little too much as well.

The schedule is going to be compact the rest of the year. As a coach you need to take that I to account with regards to document.

Very true but by my eyes i just didn't really care for anyone's game last night, doesn't mean i'm right though. Maybe it was watching people do that gruelling activity of ice fishing between periods 1 and 2 that got to me.

Single game XGF stats aren't that useful imo. They didn't match what I saw at any rate.

Didn’t see him make an example of a single player. Instead it’s usually Dubois forced to play the tough guy.
Dillion has been plenty physical this season with lots of big hits and fights. I don't think that's easy to do every night though, and especially after 3 really intense battles against big division opponents. I think he's done his part this year. Stanley's the guy I would have expected to step up last night, but he's just off a ubi.

This team just isn't desperate enough against lesser opponents.

Jets play the Chicago team that played St. Louis and we likely win. Not excusing the Jets. But Chicago had allot of attention to detail in their game and good gap control.

What's frustrating is the Jets were not able to elevate their game . Something they just needed to do if they hope to make a push for the playoffs. They knew heading into the game the Hawks were looking for a bounce back game after their coach called them out .

Chicago at home is a game you MUST win in this situation. It's a game you SHOULD win regardless of the situation. Even a hot Fleury is no excuse.

Hellebuyck was great... until he wasn't. All the great saves in the world are no excuse for letting in two softies. Again, in this situation there is no room for error.

Now, I didn't expect them to win every remaining game of the season. But they should be better than the Blackhawks. This could be costly.

Poor Perfetti could have been the difference maker for the Jets... he had plenty of chances. He is afraid to shoot. He's always looking for the perfect play. He needs to get a little more "meat and potatoes" in his game.

I liked Stanley's game, he showed no rust whatsoever. In fact, I liked our entire blueline. The goals that beat Hellebuyck weren't really their fault (a sneaky shot by Kane that Hellebuyck should have had, a bad line change that led to a great shot by Debrincat, but it was far enough away that it should have been an easy blocker save).

Stanley had a very good game overall. As far as being an enforcer, he needs to take boxing lessons to improve his hand speed. When it comes to fighting, he has the slowest hands in the league.

Are these teams really lesser opponents though? Jets are 5 points ahead of Chicago vs. 24 points behind Colorado. I'm not sure we can claim we're "playing down to the competition at this point".

I'd be interesting to hear the out of town broadcasts when teams lose to the Jets. Do they moan how their team played down to the competition and gave up 2 easy points against a bad team?

The Jets are on track to get another team's coach fired soon.

I think it's moreso the Jets playing better/with more investment vs top teams . The logic being if you can hold your own or beat those teams, why then lackluster performances vs lesser teams or teams close to your own level?

only watched the first 2 periods, and the third sparingly

feel like "casual Jets" is putting it lightly.

Why is Lowry/Copp/Reichel the line on the ice with three minutes to go when we’re down by one? Aren’t we supposed to be trying to catch up?

i actually that line played pretty good despite not scoring. but coach's son, nuff said. lowry would be one of the last players id ice when desperately looking for offense.

not wrong. the other top-6 line was copp-stastny-ehlers, which performed at a high-level the year previous and was good this year.

Doesn't matter at this point. The Jets are not "worse" (on paper) than Chicago. This is gut-check time. They shouldn't have lost. Hellebuyck was not clutch... he ruined the big saves he did make by letting in two goals he shouldn't have. Our offense stalled, and I don't give too much credit to Fleury. We love going round and round and round in the offensive zone, but we're afraid to go to the net.

Whatever... I just want to see some sign of life, any sign. I want to see a reason to believe that not only can we get into the playoffs, but that we can catch fire at the right time and make some noise in the playoffs. There's no point squeaking in only to lose in four or five games in the first round. Will Ehlers be that difference maker, at least by allowing us to make some important line adjustments? We will see.

I watched the first period and then wandered upstairs to watch a few episodes of Billions with my spouse. This is OT for this thread, but I think you'd like it (see TV & Movie thread).

The bigger point is that the Jets are losing the attention of their most loyal fans and its not just because they are losing--it's HOW they are losing. And the lack of passion on the ice and inattention to detail is being perceived by STH off the ice as well.
