I think they knew the players involved. I’m more so saying maybe they didn’t know right then charges were about to get released publicly & they had to take his claims at face value.
That's fair and it's certainly plausible. If i'm running that team and I know it's hanging over his head i'm avoiding that type of language though. Say personal reasons and leave it at that.

Shout out to the Flyers for doing that and leaving it vague.

Part of me wonders if Dube potentially lied to them & they didn’t know the charges were about to drop?

It was a few days before Hart & then ultimately that following morning where charges were announced.
I had the same thought, because even if the team didn't know, they're not going to bury the player unless the lawyers tell them they need to

It's certainly possible all 5 of them are on suicide watch, so maybe the Flames said Dube was on a mental health leave, could've been under doctor's care. Is it an issue that if he was on medical leave they could LTIR him, vs. just carrying his salary as a player suspended pending trial? Don't know. Not going to slag them, this is pretty uncharted waters for the teams involved.

At any rate, I expect the NHL to suspend them pending trial. Voldemort is not a Flyer anymore and never will be again.

Hart will not fair too well in a prison if convicted. If Carter was my son.....man.....I would think about a suicide watch. I did a lot of stupid things at 19, like getting caught drag racing, and going before the judge and paying the fine and losing my license for three months........but not this, not this at all.
I mean I get that teens do stupid things and I did my fair share but they were always pretty tame. Not sure if it was Catholic school guilt or the fear of God my Italian dad put in me. Probably the latter...

Breaking: Carter Hart under suicide watch. Was just denied a Toyota with Takata airbags by a used car dealership in Philadelphia owned by Chuck Fletcher.

Given that Hart was never mentioned in trade rumors, despite the emergence of Ersson, I think teams knew who was involved.
That isn't true, he was definitely brought up, to the point where people thought he was actually traded, on the same day Provorov was. LA was in on him, which is probably why that was. There were a lot of people who thought he would be traded until somewhere along the way, suddenly, he wasn't, and at that point, yes this was why.
