For police to re-open a case 3 years later after closing it with no charges filed, only to then charge 5 people with sexual assault seems pretty damning.

They wouldn't reopen the case and lay criminal charges for no reason, new damning evidence must have been brought forward.

Also… what public pressure? Not saying there’s none, but it’s not exactly a super pressing story. They’ve dragged this thing out for years. FFS, the police department just announced a press conference for 2 weeks from now. Could you imagine the cops in one of the high profile cases in this country being like “we’ll get back to you in 2 weeks”?
