Alternatively, being found innocent of a crime doesn't necessarily mean they didn't do it.
Well, being found innocent would mean they didn't do it. What you're looking for is being found not guilty. Being found innocent would absolve you of wrongdoing based on proving that you didn't do anything wrong.

You are drafting teenagers. Unless they've already done something, I find it hard to believe you are going to reliably weed out these guys with interviews

Unfortunately, stuff like this isn't that rare with teenage males
Are you kidding me? Sexual assault such as pulling a train on an inebriated woman isn't rare with teenage males? You run in a rough neighborhood. Sure it happens but it isn't a common thing.

Carter Hart is really embracing this “new era of orange” thing a little too much.

"Rare" is a matter of context, but if you don't think this kind of stuff is flying around at every college campus at minimum, I'm not sure what to say

It is possible that people who were found innocent are not actually innocent. Same goes for being found guilty.

One thing for sure when it comes to sexual assault, you can’t assume anything. I dated a woman years ago, who was a childhood sexual assault counselor. It is so common. It’s absolutely staggering. The statistics are horrifying.

Then college campuses need to be better. I never saw a gang rape when I went but maybe I ran in different circles. “What about..” finger pointing doesn’t do anything here. It’s not a boys will be boys thing

It’s not a conversation the world is largely ready to have, but good people do make mistakes. The worst thing you did in your life can be an outlier. Or it can be the impetus for a person to change.

Even if Carter Hart is guilty as sin of this thing 6 years ago, it doesn’t mean he’s a horrible person now.

But he does need to own up to his actions, take responsibility and face the consequences.
Maybe it’s another Duke lacrosse, Trevor Bauer, or Matt Araiza situation?

It’s not like false sexual assault allegations never happen.

Hart is entitled to a defense, & best-case-scenario he is able show his innocence.

It's strange that Carter put out the statement years ago that he had nothing to do with this incident. The others on indefinite absence didn't.

What I don't understand, is that this case was originally settled out of court right? The plaintiff was granted 3.5 mil in damages. So we essentially know that the players are guilty, but I thought the court settlement would end that?

I think him possibly being implicated in all of this is why he didn't get an NHL job, but only an AHL one.
The teams do know what’s in the investigation but it could be just a matter that those players are persona non grata until they’re cleared or the situation is resolved. Probably not insignificant that he went to the AHL while Formenton went to Switzerland. But the situation with the team he is on is different too.

These would be criminal charges
