he did the same thing in toronto with former sault ste. marie palyers and staff. the one likeable thing about him as a gm is he's extremely loyalDubas must love keeping Bunting employed.
I wonder if Vancouver had Bunting if the trade would've went through.
Guentzel for the Michael Jackson Tribute Band.I still hate this trade...A Broz level prospect, a bottom 6 type prospect, and a slow skater.
Strange to hate a trade largely involving prospects until you see them hit the ice for your team.I still hate this trade...A Broz level prospect, a bottom 6 type prospect, and a slow skater.
I don't think Carolina has a farm teamAnybody know why Ty Smith is still playing for Wilkes-Barre Scranton? He had an assist with them tonight.

Funny thing is most Pens fans said the same thing about Jake when he was drafted. Too small, not strong enough and a bad skater. Like if we all became professional scouts !!Strange to hate a trade largely involving prospects until you see them hit the ice for your team.
They can always get good but with our luck they will all bust.Strange to hate a trade largely involving prospects until you see them hit the ice for your team.
They could’ve beat this offer, they chose not too. There’s a difference.I also like how this is such a terrible trade according to Canucks fans coming into this thread, yet their team was practically begging Pittsburgh to send Guentzel to Vancouver and they couldn't beat this offer. What does that say about your prospect pool that this "terrible trade" was better than what you offered?
The AHL is not firmly abobe KHL, they are nearing the KHL in quality. It might depend a bit on what you are trying to compare. If it's league to league, I think you're correct. But if the goal is use each league as a measure of how a prospect might perform in the NHL, then I don't think it's a good list. I think the AHL would be firmly above the KHL if you are looking at that. Plenty of low level pluggers go from the NHL to the KHL and put up big numbers.
If Prospect A was PPG in the AHL and Prospect B was PPG in the KHL (with all other things being equal), I would take the PPG AHL player every time.
Anybody know why Ty Smith is still playing for Wilkes-Barre Scranton? He had an assist with them tonight.
Correct. Canes don't have an AHL affiliate this season so it was best for him to just be loaned to WBS from Carolina, and probably best for WBS as well.I don't think Carolina has a farm team
Greed? So you would want quantity over quality for your team as well? Another jealous fan of the 3 out of 4 Cup runs is strong in this one.Poor Pittsburgh fans went from prospect greed, saying they’d be disappointed if Blake wasn’t the prospect “included” with Morrow…. to googling their new prospects within minutes…
This isn't the start of a rebuild, so the Penguins aren't acknowledging it's time to start to do so.The Penguins gave up 20 games of Guentzel, games that don't matter to the Penguins. Not sure why any Penguins fans would be so upset about this. I'm just glad the Penguins are finally acknowledging that this team isn't good enough and needs to start rebuilding.
Canes fans don’t see this is quantity over quality. We have one A prospect. After that the next five or six are in the same group for us. Pono, Koivunen, Blake, Fus, Nadeau….we all have our opinions on who the best forward is is but they all got votes in our polls to be in the top five and I had the two big ones you got in our top five. They’re all clumped together. I think Morrow should be number 2, but I’m not sold on him reaching his ceiling. Your whole theory of why this trade is bad is off base. Blake isn’t perceived by us as our best offensive prospect. Nadeau gets the groups vote but why? He’s the most recent first rounder. I watched him play last night, and watched Blake live a few weeks ago. Koivunen and Pono are ahead of them both right now. You’re going off lists because you don’t know the prospects. Pono is the only one that can play in the NHL right now and he’s good. He’s fun to watch, you’re going to root for him. Koivunen is nearly a ppg in a mens league at 20, two wjc teams. He’s the mix of the most accomplished with probably the highest ceiling. They’re both second rounders, Nadeau is a late first. I don’t understand why you view this as only quantity. Lucious is having a ppg season, he’s the “throw in” and even he has raised his value significantly.Greed? So you would want quantity over quality for your team as well? Another jealous fan of the 3 out of 4 Cup runs is strong in this one.
Call it what you will but it's the first time they've been sellers. That's progress in my book. This isn't the start of a rebuild, so the Penguins aren't acknowledging it's time to start to do so.
lol Aho just mentioned on chiclets how Bunting was lost with the new system at first. He said it light-heartedly, but it could be a bit of both- the piece needed and the Canes way really wasn’t coming naturally to him.
Like. My god, how has there never been a hockey themed wrestler? I mean besides Andrew Peters.
Under the scope of predicting how a player might do in the NHL, yes it is.The AHL is not firmly abobe KHL, they are nearing the KHL in quality.
I think part of the perception problem is that they are (were) Carolina prospects and we don't have as large of a fanbase.Canes fans don’t see this is quantity over quality. We have one A prospect. You may have gotten our two best offensive prospects.
Assume much?? I’ve been very consistent in every post regarding what his return would likely be. Which it ended up being. To the extent, I’ve named the “types of prospects” they were going to get.Greed? So you would want quantity over quality for your team as well?
