well, i’m not sure that’s the answer. Wilson actually contributes. Reaves in approaching mid 30’s and doesn’t appear to be playing much hockey. He does police the ice though.

He doesn't need to play much hockey. NYR can play one man short on the 4th line and bring out Reaves when it's time to leave scumbags like Wilson unconscious on the ice, or a retaliation against another star player. That's IF the NHL doesn't suspend Wilson for a significant time. If not, it's a clear message it's back to the law of the jungle where teams have to protect themselves, because the clown league doesn't care about player safety.

Couldn't have happened to a nicer guy. Since that bum Wilson turtles in fights when the opponent is smaller than him, you deal with him the Wilson way: cheap shots.

IF Wilson is done for, I still expect NYR to play a very angry game against Washington the next time. Ignore the score, just throw as many hard hits as you can, especially against their star players. And BOY am I relieved now that Lundqvist didn't play for that scumbag organization. It would've made me sick to my stomach if he guarded their net.

He took liberties with our skill guys. You go take liberties with theirs. Its not rocket science, no one is expecting Adam Fox to square up with Wilson.

I have maintained this is the correct thing to do for many years.

Rupp was interviewed a few months ago and said if one of your skill guys gets attacked by a Wilson, you don't go after Wison.

You go after players like Backstrom, Carlson etc,.

Just ask the Lightning who got swept by Columbus in four straight games to open the PO's two years ago because they were man handled after posting one of the best records in the regular season. They added Coleman, Goodrow, Maroon and Schenn. Players that add some grit and toughness to a good group of skilled players and they won the cup. You can't have one without the other. Somehow (mostly) lost in this is that the officials let him come back and play. Especially after he raged out on them for that first penalty. Dude was clearly unhinged, just unreal.

I mean what more does it take to even get a game misconduct? Completely stunned he was left in the game, just stunned.

Go into the Caps board, 90% defends Wilson and claims he hit the rangers #89 on the shoulder....not in the jaw/neck/cheek. The shoulder is apparantly in the middle of Buchnevichs nameplate, sighs.

I respected their club and enjoyed the back-and-forth, hard-fought and clean series we had with one another. Probably the main reason why I couldn't hate them is because there never was a big incident.

A deterrent is not someone who will drop the gloves against the perpetrator. It's someone who the other team fears will take a run at their top player, either clean or not, in an eye for an eye. This team lacks any sense of crazy or unpredictability by what one of its players might do in response. Plain vanilla personality.

My thoughts.

1. miller is horrific on defense. Floats around and has no awareness of where he is and others are on ice. He needs at least half a season in the ahl next year.

2. Quinn is awful part. Why the hell is pp1 still out after a whistle and half the powerplay is over. Play the god damn kids.

3. Quinn is awful part 2. Why is blackwell on pp2. Put kravtaov there u dumbass.

4. quinn is awful part 3. Why are no kids being rotated in the PK? We used 4 forwards in a game witb a ton of penalties. Play chytil, kakko, kratvsov and barron on the pk. Especially if we trade zib and buch next year who are our two best PKers. The kids need to develop. Blackwell and rooney do not need to develop.

Gorts should just fire quinn and let knobby take over to end the season.

PLAY THE GOD DAMN KIDS. SEASON IS OVER! No reason to run out blackwell for wverything!

It's amazing I watch KAM and see insane potential. Other's complain that he's not perfect at 21. He's not a finished product. Sky is the limit for the kid.

He needs coaching and vet help

Since Wilson is a repeat offender, I would assume with a warning after his last suspension, it's time to get serious with giving him a message even he understands. 30 games for the Buch assault, 60 games for Panarin. Next suspension if he repeats, 120 games.

Gauthier can play anyway he wants, it’s a free world. But there is no room for him on my roster if he doesn’t stand up in situations like this. What has DQs message to Gauthier been? He hasn’t been given the message.

It’s just one of a myriad of areas this team is mismanaged. Unprepared. What happens when things get out of hand? How does we as a team react? When you are not prepared you stand there with your pants down.

Quinn is what he is. He wants to do well, but don’t know how and has many characteristics his players won’t like one bit. But the big issue to me is, Gorton is responsible for this team and has followed this for almost two years now. How can he let this go on?

Gauthier is this year's most overrated Ranger on this site, except possibly Miller.

If Wilson was on any other team besides the Penguins, he would've gotten the Raffi Torres treatment by now.

It's really time for the league to put its money where it's mouth is. Put up or shut up time. This was 100% indefensible conduct by a repeat offender. This was not even close to a "hockey play" gone wrong. Pure goonery by a rage-fueled roided-up repeat offender.

Either do the right thing and put this guy away for a long time, or likely risk changing the way the NYR and other franchises construct portions of their lineups. Agree or disagree with that all you want...I'd be surprised if it didn't happen, but especially see it happening if the league gives a slap on the wrist. Enough is enough. If you want to promote a skilled, changed game this this the time to take a stand.
