Always weird when a leafs fan and a bruins fan agree...but 100% with you on this one Wilson is a dirty plug who needs to be suspended the rest of the season (playoffs included) at least

Yup...Backstrom should have had a big bullseye on his back for the third period .....Mika never dropped a glove during that scrum . Kreider would have helped if he was on for that PP ..not by fighting...but would have at least held up somebody .....which would have pleased the ringette/ ballet fans on here LOL .
Parros or no Parros (it’s interesting that a former goon runs the OPS), Bettman and the owners need to decide (and enforce!) what kind of game they want. Can’t have it both ways, either it’s a game that focuses on skill and good hard clean play or it’s open season, Lord of the Flies, and every team needs to muscle up and protect themselves because the league won’t. We’ve all seen it both ways and I think that most prefer the former, so the first thing to do is run these players out of the game no matter how good they may be. Or we can dress a 4th line of guys who will break your face if you check (cleanly or not) one of our better players. The league will make it clear which option is taken and we should respond accordingly. I don’t have hope that the league understands their role in this.
This is why I never took Mario Lemieux’s past statements seriously as long as they were dressing Matt Cooke

Hey remember when management said after the bubble they wanted to make this a tougher team to play against and then proceeded to add no toughness at all and fill the roster with under 25 year old guys who are skill players??? This is probably the 5th time I've posted that exact statement in the past month. What an abject failure on the part of this entire organization. Rushing prospects, no grit, no toughness, no identity except for soft and easy to play against. An absolute shame.

The Leafs addition of Simmonds and now Foligno adds some grit to what was an identified need in their forwards.

If Wilson gets away with this, NYR should trade for Reaves or someone similar. It doesn't matter if he sucks at hockey, his job is to hurt opponents.
The fact that people are defending Wilson, is very scary. Like they are ok with a guy punching another guys head several times when he is on the ice.
If you mess with our key players I'll mess with your key players. The league should have no problem with that. Right?
FYI I like Leaf fans. As a STH holder in Boston they are my favorite visiting fans.

the Rangers have a responsibility to police themselves. They built a great team for Europe though.

grit, what a concept. Hopefully the Rangers won’t take as long to learn as the Leafs have. Some of these kids will add that grit yet with teenagers skating around it is ridiculous there is nobody to police the ice.
Teams need an enforcer. I don't mean a goon but a player that will have the player's backs.
I know many say it is no longer needed but I say BS ...yes it is.
So agree. I lost so much respect for Mario when he was whining about head shots and he was paying the worst in the league (cooke)

well, i’m not sure that’s the answer. Wilson actually contributes. Reaves in approaching mid 30’s and doesn’t appear to be playing much hockey. He does police the ice though.

Go into the Caps board, 90% defends Wilson and claims he hit the rangers #89 on the shoulder....not in the jaw/neck/cheek. The shoulder is apparantly in the middle of Buchnevichs nameplate, sighs.
