There’s at least three replacements I’ve come across without looking particularly hard, one of which looks like a carbon copy of the essentials, down to the look and feel.

They aren’t anywhere near as full featured today as CF was, but the competition will drive at least one of them to improve quickly, ensure they receive a steady data stream, and keep adding desired features. Why? Because they are also motivated to get the best site out there to those who need it so that one day, they can also get bought. That’s how incentives should work. Then we’ll do it all over again.

At least it’s the middle of July. Good slow time of the hockey calendar for competitors to build up their offerings.

Why is there so much whinging on HF this week? Grab your bits and suck it up and walk it off.

Such salty takes. Capfriendly built something so well that an NHL team felt it was a good idea to buy it. Good on them, hope the owner(s) got a fat retirement payday for that. Can't blame the Capitals either. You buy something your competitors use, you take it off their hands, you don't leave it public.
What?

Yes you can blame them. Just because you understand why they did it doesn't mean you can't hate them for it.

It’s going to be more difficult to track recalls, assignments and conditioning assignments.

Even getting a reliable list of current RFA’s was a task but other websites were available for that.

Apologies if this has already been asked and answered, but has anyone asked the Capitals why they purchased Capfriendly.com only to shut it down? And if so, what was their response?

Ah yes. That tried and true business approach that has ruined the country. No sense in complaining about it.

They didn't shut it down per se. They privatized it and will be using it for their own purposes because, you know, business or whatever.
