Post-Game Talk: Capitals @ Rangers Game 6: HANK HANK HANK HANK!

so u can intent to injure someone by cross checking them in the face but a accidental high stick that draws blood is 4? horse ****

Is it really any surprise that fans of the Caps and Pens are insufferable? No team has more bandwagon fans than either of those two teams.

The main board thread is ridiculous. The Caps were badly outplayed in the game and would have lost 3 or 4-0 if not for Holtby. All they do is complain about the refs when the caps have been incredibly undisciplined in the series.

Meth head corpse.

Can't believe the amount of crying by everyone about the refs. The Rangers didn't do anything blatant like the Caps did to earn a penalty, why should the refs give them PPs just because? Ridiculous logic, your team played undisciplined and stupid and our team did not. There's no fix, get over it.

With that said 3 stars are: Hank, BRASS GOD! and Stralman. Brassard has been the best skater in the series on either side and Stralsy has been our best dman. Very tense game my nerves feel shot.

Girardi has been our best dman imo. He plays alot of mins vs the top lines. He makes very few mistakes, scored a goal vs the caps etc. Give Girardi some credit. Stralman and Mcd has also played well imo, but my favorite is still Girardi.

Very strange that the Caps got 0 power plays tonight. But honestly? I didn't see anything that was blatantly missed by the officials. I'm sure I'm biased, but most nights I can admit to penalties being soft either way or missed calls. Don't think any of that happened tonight. Thought the refs handled the game well :dunno:

Nothing left to say about Hank. My God.

One game. That's it.

Ok. So to complete an argument I had with Kershaw. Here are the 4 points.

1) Moore- You basically repeated the same exact thing using different language and didn't address anything I told you. Once again, you're basing your entire argument on the decision of a coach. Coaches aren't infallible. If a coach's decision always represents the value of a player then Girardi and Boyle are Power Play specialists. Moore has 7 points in 19 games with the Rangers and had 1 point in 17. Maybe the Blue Jackets weren't using him correctly.

2) Stralman- Stralman was a guy that CBJ and NJD (coming off a non-playoff finish) didn't want. Now he's a very solid top 4 guy. Maybe some players don't stop improving at 24. Why is it out of the realm of possibility that he'd improve on the PP? Especially since he must have some sort of talent if a lot of teams thought he'd be good there.

3) Richards- Of course I don't think that Richards will ever return to Conn Smythe and/or 90 point form. I was just illustrating your double standard. With Starlman you're assuming he didn't change in 2 years. Yet with Richards you're criticizing him for changing. He should still be decent on the PP, not like you have to skate end to end on it or be physical. Besides last year he was still pretty good and our PP still sucked.

4) Homstrom was a top PP guy on some of the most dominant teams in NHL history. Callahan isn't Holmstrom? Well Nash isn't Jagr in his prime, what's your point? That has nothing to do with anything. Also you mentioned 6 teams that wouldn't have him on the PP. Let's say that's correct. That's still only 6 teams. I'm not asking for the #1 PP in the league. Is average to much to ask for?

AO with the cowards move at the end of the game. Starts punching a Ranger while he was being held by another Capital. Last to the scrum too.

Thank God I didn't have to listen to Doc!

Did any of you? ... how was it? :curious:

Im used to norwegian so called experts that dosent know what a puck is, dosent know the icing rule etc. Also watched alot of games on Russia 2. So i like Doc, Rosen etc

They gotta get rid of Beaver at all cost.

apparently stepping on the ice when the game starts earns u minimum 2-3 power plays over the course of the game, no matter if an infraction has occurred or not.

It would be really nice to have Clowe back, but I don't think it will happen. I've already accepted that Staal will not reappear anytime soon.

It's going to be war.

Moore needs to get stronger, much stronger, but I like his offensive game more than Delzaster. So much more decisive, seems to have it upstairs.

Really needs to improve his strength against the boards, really weak in that area.

If Rangers expect Hank to do that again in Washington, then we are screwed. They need to score, so from an offensive standpoint, that was not a good game.

From a defensive standpoint, terrific game. Boyle, Callahan, Stepan, Dorsett and even Pyatt turned in terrific defensive games.

McD and Girardi have shut down Ovechkin and really given this team a chance to win. I've really been happy with Eminger's performance. He's ugly sometimes out there, but he isn't afraid to get into with the opposing team and he's solid back there.

Been saying for a while Anton Stralman is this team's X-Factor on defense and today he proved it. Outstanding performance. Absolutely outstanding. And that hit he delivered on Chimera was just textbook. A+ for Stralman today.

Hank. (that's all I have to say about him)

This game was not all Hank. He played great, but the team did a great job today applying pressure. Yes, it would have been damned tough to win without him, but the Capitals were held in check for most of the game.

That is like saying that Holtby had nothing to do, which is totally, patently incorrect.

I agree he should have been tossed, but it was called as a cross check, not a high stick.

What I saw should have been worth four minute double - slew foot first followed by cross check. Caps should be thankfull they got only two minute PK.

There was nothing blatant. The Rangers were very disciplined. Even in the last game, the Rangers took only two penalties, which wer obvious ones. They have been very disciplined.

What about the play before Green took the penalty? Looked like a slew foot.
