I for one look forward to the endless debates about this game

Summary- tons of turnovers. Best players played like shit. Goalie cant make a save.

The end. On to Detroit.
Yuuuupppp. Good game to learn from. Started real strong, then 2 bonehead plays screwed us.

Like I've said before, and thankfully Sal just highlighted this. The reason certain teams have such a good pp is because they have multiple options. Caps have Oshie, Ovie, Carlson. Lightning have Kucherov, Stamkos, Point, Hedman (absolutely disgusting btw).

Devils have.....who? No one is scared of Bratt and Hughes. Hamilton is really the only real shooting threat and being at the top he won't be getting many opportunities as the only threat (especially being at the spot he's at).

82 games there will be some that are stinkers. I just don’t recall this team being outplayed and actually winning to the posters point it seems the devils in order to win have to play excellent they rarely if ever play bad and steal a win.
Teams with good goalies can get away with playing bad a stealing a win. So not us.

If you're laying this at his feet after watching this effort - you might need to watch the 2nd period over again. The entire team has stunk and all the air went out of the room when they sailed a cross ice pass on the PP that led to the SHG. Most idiotic or laziest pass attempt ever. Maybe both.

Absolutely true. But Blackwood didn't make a save either. Didn't get across the pipes. Goes down with zeal like this is House of the Dragon's pleasure houses and he's the star performer. One literally went off of him and in. He's not square, he's not standing up, and he's not moving across. Of the 5 goals at least 3 should've been saved and that kills you when 4 goals go in in what... 3 seconds? 8?

People that are gleefully dismissive of statistics when they can look around the league and see the strong correlation between said statistics and the teams that win over the course of sufficient sample sizes really do just tickle me.
The thing is, we won the stats battle the last three games and no one said shit about how math isn't real.

It's almost like people ignore information that disproves their opinions and are only interested in confirming their priors.

I know you don’t know what to say. It’s ok. My point was he is moving his legs and had some quality chances. You think he is uncapable of having a good game ? He’s having a good game you want to argue he should be scratched in favor od someone else that’s ok but he is playing decent tonight.

Listen Lindy shouldn't you be talking to the guys in the locker room?

The structure of the Devils powerplay is a mess to begin with. They don’t even have a real bumper in proper position in the slot, they immediately get out of formation and wind up with two net front guys.

To be honest, I couldn’t even tell you who our bumper is at this point. One second it’s Nico, the next it’s Mercer, the next it’s Bratt. Just a disaster.

Our finishing is dogshit tonight, a recurring theme, but Jesus Christ you can’t let in 5 goals on 18 shots
I agree with you, but until we start losing 5-4, 6-5 or at the very least 4-3 games I dont even think its worth wasting our energy trying to over analyze every soft goals allowed. The truth is we're not going to be a playoff team with that absolute lack of finishing. I feel like the 5 goals allowed are just a snowball effect from all the wasted chances from our offense. This is the number 1 problem with this team right now
