You can't tell me at least two of these goals weren’t bad ones.

Obviously the last two were not, but this is Blackwood post-2020 and maybe even overall. This was not out of the ordinary in his AHL days.

And he can’t put together more than 5 good games in the last two seasons before this and it’s happening again now.

I dont think anybody is saying all the goals are unstoppable, but the team cant finish a chance even if their life depended on it. Thats not helping him build any confidence and you're not gonna win many games scoring 1 or 2 goals so I think it's pretty safe to say that the lack of finish has been even more of a problem so far. No goaltender in the history of the nhl is winning that game tonight for the devils.

Seriously our offense has been putrid so far this season. They can look pretty and outshot the opponent all they want but it wont mean shit if they keep coming out empty handed every time. And its just going to put more stress on our goaltending who's already shaky

THIS was the game to win. This game. Against a team you should be taking a playoff spot from. Against a team that started nobody in net. Against a team that has been kicking sand in your face for years. THIS was the game to win.

Evidently we started thinking we were really good.

Very poor effort tonight. We want it to be pretty. But sometimes you have to dig for it. Maybe we can learn something here. The coaches too.

One of my least favourite Devils of all-time, even Andreas Johnsson is better than him. The guy basically doesn't even compete and brings literally nothing to the table yet somehow Ruff has him glued to a spot in the top 9.

Yup. I have been anti-Tatar for awhile nkw but for some reason he keeps gettig ice time . Numerous numerous times he directly leads to a goal against with his weak play ( muscled off the puck , turns it over easily , won’t take a hit to make a play)yet here we are.

We have no finish, Blackwood sucks, Severson made a really stupid play that turned into a goal against, and the Pp shit the bed

Then bratt made an equally dumb play. I can’t say any of the goals were awful. The one timer seemed like Blackwood was slow getting across but this is a game we’re we handed to the caps w stupid undisciplined hockey. They know how to completely eliminate our game every time they slow it down into mud meet and we can’t play like that. Add in our pp is brutal and goaltending was backnto being the norm and you have 5-1. More interested in seeing how they respond to this terrible game. Blackwood needed to make some saves and didn’t to keep them in this one.

How can Ovie be that wide open on the PP ? I still don’t get it. It’s an unsolved mystery or some weird twilight zone shit going on or voodoo . Blackwood slow to react. Had a good look at it. They figured him out and started going blocker side.

But look all the same this game isn’t on Blackwood. He made a number of fine stops until we decided quite frankly to stop skating, if not quit, while going brain dead on a couple of plays.

Yeah I’m not pinnning this on Blackwood they were all excellent shots that should never have been. You can keep Hughes in the em h in the third for my money he is playing pond hockey out there
