Top Gun: Maverick….loved it….

For the more critical viewers, its predictable (but very fun), and I probably give it an extra 1/2 ⭐️ for nostalgia, but it was well worth the wait for me. I’ll definitely see it in the theater one more time.
I just saw it. The action was great but the plot not so much. It was basically a reboot of the original. That was disappointing.

I’ve watched the first two episodes of Season 4 for Stranger Things and I’ll be honest, I really don’t like it. Feels like I’m watching a completely new show. Way too dark, meandering, and over produced for my liking compared to the previous seasons. I’m hoping things start to make sense and connect soon because right now I think it sucks.

Stick with it. Without giving away too much, eventually things will "connect".

My daughter and I are enjoying it. I don’t love the characters for the most part….they’re all heavily flawed which is fine writing, but hard to pull for at times…

The Northman is streaming on Peacock, it was very good, sharper writing than I was expecting
I’m watching this later…looks like a visually dark movie….need to wait for the sun to go down lol….

From what I read from the showrunners it was attended to be more dark and more horror. I had way more difficulty with S3 than S4 in the early episodes.

Will review the 4k bluray edition when I get it tomorrow/watch.

Yea I was skeptical going into S4 after 3 years away and wondering how many times they can go to back to the well with this formula.

I was pleasantly surprised and really got into it. Like every season, my mind ends up buzzing with all the movie references and analyzing the period correct details.

I really liked the darker horror references this year, and the addition of Eddie (of Iron Maiden or just a nod to EVH?) as a nerdy metalhead musician, which was sorta my clique in suburban MD (though I was a little later, so Metallica/Megadeth/Slayer instead of Dio).

Can’t wait for the supersized (4 hours in total!) final two episodes next month.

I know they never had a big name in the grand scheme of things but I can't tell you how impactful Testament was on the metal scene for me and the contemporaries at the time. When the Over the Wall video hit in '87 that was it...everyone loved that band..and for me that was a switch from Metallica to Testament. Also didn't help that the And Justice for All album was kinda meh on a few levels. My first club concert was at the Bayou seeing Megadeth and Overkill (underage my Dad was awesome enough to take me and my younger brother and really had to battle it out with the manager at the time (cannot remember her name but she was tough as hell, was there to see Overkill rather than Megadeth...Taking Over album was great).

Your Dad sounds a lot cooler than mine!

Yea Testament was great (and Exodus too). I remember that with “Over the Wall” on Headbanger’s Ball from The Legacy album. Alex Skolnick’s solo is sick on that, and the whole album really. Good times.

Ok….The Northman…..classic story (nothing new)….well acted, great imagery similar to 300 at times…..loved that…..some crossover between real world and “magic”…….was shocked how overly ritualistic and pagan they were….it was over the top…..but enjoyable. That said…..didn’t LOVE it…….but I was entertained…..

It’s been one of my more anticipated movies but the wife definitely won’t like it and we’re only through two episodes of Stranger Things S4 so I’m not sure when I’ll get around to it.

Just wanted to echo this sentiment. I just finished watching tonight and things connected nicely at the end. Looking forward to the second half of the season next month!

Yeah this season rips so far, it’s about as strong as they’ve ever been.

Side note, though, the town should probably ban DND.
If the big bad mirrors their latest campaign one more time, someone’s going to have to put these pieces together. It’s borderline irresponsible to keep giving these guys form:sarcasm:

Really though, it’s not keeping me from enjoying anything but this was the second time in a row I was like “really? We’re going to spend the whole time basically dealing with a 1:1 recreation of the thing from the monster manual, down to abilities and limitations?” Just wish they’d get surprised once or twice or guess wrong.

Finished through episode 4 tonight and it’s gotten better. It’s got this weird Nightmare on Elm Street meets The Ring vibe which has taken some time for me to come around to but I’m getting there.

Finally finished Ozark last night, not sure still how I feel about the ending. Not even entirely sure if the second part of season 4 was necessary? Not that much happened, and it just kind of…. ended. Still overall really enjoyed that show, the acting and especially Bateman were so good. Season 3 with Wendys brother was probably my favorite of it all, he was such a great actor. On to stranger things now.. and finally Peaky blinders

I didn’t like it at first but they finished strong

The Young Justice finale was bananas

I'm almost done episode 6 and it's picked up considerably. Really did not like how it started but I'm hooked now.

The "Max's favorite song" scene in the 4th episode was crazy good. One of the better scenes in TV I've seen in a while.

My brother is pretty excited about the new Peak Blinders season.

Finally finished Moon Knight very cool last two episodes. The Making of Moon Knight is worth the watch also.

Ms. Marvel's 1st episode good also.

I watched all of Peaky Blinders this weekend, it’s only 6 episodes. I’ll wait to say anything till other people catch up
