Alright I need a good movie suggestion for tonight.

Going to have the house all to myself. Going to get a good fire going in the fireplace, eat some edibles, drink some KBS, go down a rabbit hole of weird porn

Something ichi the killer ... tarantino-y ... coen bros-esq

Idk, im putting a lot of pressure on myself to maximize my "home alone no kids no wife no judgment" night. I got about 6-8 hours to fill. Probably dvr the caps game and devout an hour to that, if its close in the 3rd watch live.
Ever seen Event Horizon?

Batman: The Animated Series was probably my favorite cartoon in the 90s. And the Arkham video games are easily my favorite comic book games. Conroy and Mark Hamill are two icons in voice acting, and it sucks that one of them is gone now.

Finished Andor Episode 10 Night. What a great episode. I love the world building aspect of seeing how the rebellion really got up and running. It’s be a great change of pace to other Star Wars projects. I’ve been more interested in the character development in this show compared to some of the others they have done recently.

When I think Tarantino and Coen Brothers, I think quirky and off-kilter, with solid story, vivid characters, and some action. Soooo... movies like that that might have flown under your radar?

Lucky Number Slevin, Matchstick Men, Kiss Kiss Bang Bang, Haywire, Hell or High Water, The Nice Guys, Logan Lucky, Freeway, Confidence, Baby Driver, Seven Psychopaths, In Bruges. All fit that basic mold and range from good to brilliant. Generally speaking, anything from Steven Soderbergh, Guy Ritchie, and Martin McDonagh is worth a look if that's your thing.

I recently streamed Mr. Right on a lark because I'll watch anything with Sam Rockwell and missed that one, and found it delightful. Definitely more of a straight-ahead comedy, but they just kinda let Rockwell go nuts.

I saw the Devil?

Thats a good recommendation ... been on a foreign slasher theme these past month or so, so it fit right in. It was like an 8/10 for me. Some good cinematography. Embracing the violence of violent moments.

Man Bites Dog -- this is an obscure foreign movie, hard to find but very much in line with indie slasher f***ed up movies.

I've had a little trouble getting into Andor over the first 3 episodes or so. I'm going to stick it out because everyone says it's great, but did anyone else kind of experience the same thing as me?

They released the first 3 episodes all at once, and it makes sense they did. They're definitely an intro arc.

Generally the season is kinda divided into (roughly) 3-episode mini-chunks, each under the control of one director.

Yes. I thought the first few episodes were plodding and hard to get into. But that changed. Stick with it.

Obi Wan was similar for me but also seemed to improve. Andor is better...much more sophisticated. And improves far more than Obi Wan.
