When we’re talking about how Myers’ footwork and pivoting is cratering and he’s getting torched on the rush ... this is what we’re talking about. This is not an isolated occurrence. And this is why Winnipeg was sheltering him and why his defensive metrics are not good.

He's good enough. An expensive contract but we are sorely needing his size and he's not a liability on the offense.

We need more size and toughness to protect our talent. I'm not saying he's tough but he will always be intimidating. We could actually use some more slugs if only to keep our top smurfs from getting injured.

I’ve always maintained he should be ok the first couple seasons. Hopefully by then the progression of Hughes will make us forget who else is much further down the depth chart.

This reads exactly like the Panthers' goodbye thread for Gudbranson years ago. More people talking about missing his contributions in the community than as an actual player, and the majority thankful that they didn't overpay him.

We didn't get decent defense. We are paying a number 5 like he's a top pair defenseman.
