I find it amusing when people take anything that players, managers, or coaches say at face value. None of it matters, particularly weeks later after this player has had time to reflect.
And of course his agent (which is who Dhaliwal likely spoke with) wouldn't close any door. What if his client is left without a dance partner in early August?
I'm open to the possibility that he wants to re-sign and the Canucks aren't doing it.
Are you open to the possibility that he's changed his mind?
Gotta say, I'm impressed by the rambling over really nothing + the mental gymnastics at play here. The player has essentially outright said he's interested in staying without giving the classic non-committal answer almost all hockey players give in this situation, the top local reporter has reported he's interested in re-signing in Vancouver, and yet we're acting like it really means nothing because of a 'hunch' that the player changed his mind/his agent is secretly playing 4D chess.
There is very little chance his client will be 'left without a dance partner in early August'. He's a reliable bottom 6 center capable of holding his own in tough minutes while producing at a respectable rate (0.49 PPG this season, 0.39 PPG across his tenure as a Canuck).
There's also been reporting that it's the organization that's changed it's mind with the change of regime - I really don't know what you're rambling on about when it's all moot point when it's obvious the team won't be bringing him back.
