There gunna cave to this guys contract demands because they were to dumb to trade him

More so because they're trying to make a hockey trade to have their cake and eat it too, so they still have a shot at the playoffs ... which is a totally unrealistic expectation at the deadline. So they are dumb, but I think they are trying to trade him.

This is my take as well. I'm happy to keep Boeser and Suter if they both re-sign. Keeping them as "own rentals" in a desperate attempt to get slaughtered by Winnipeg would be idiotic.

Sooo... guess what we'll do?

Hoping for the best but expecting the worst is the Canuck way

Basically probably right, they can't afford to not trade Boeser and have him walk, especially if they miss the playoffs, which they very easily could. I was hoping they'd swallow it and move him, but signing him is probably the next most likely option.

You ever worked with one of those colleagues who's an OK person but is not good at his job, chronically so, and every time there's a performance review you can just see the sweat rolling down his forehead as he DESPERATELY explain to management on the pitiful crap he did trying to not look like a moron?

Yeah, I'm getting the same vibes here.

Granted, I will give our front office credit for getting Metey/Miller deal done ahead of time. But failing to trade Boeser is got to be a major, major strike against them. If it comes to be the case, which it most likely will, it will be a huge dent on my faith on this regime.

There's no real reason Brock should make more than Toffoli, so if he really wants to stay, then take a "paycut". If he's willing to do a number similar to his current contract, in the low 7 range, then sure, keep him around.

I think if nothing else, compared to the rosters that the Stars/Avs can ice, we're not even close to that. We have to build our team up the right way, which isn't possible with Quinn's contract timeline.

Not only are there no trades, but there are literally no rumors about the Canucks. It’s as if Aquilini turned their phones off so they can't make a trade
