We already know they're not taking a step back as it's been discussed already by insiders that any futures they'd get in a Boeser or Suter trade would be flipped pretty quickly for another player that can help them now.Totally different circumstances on moving Boeser vs those deals though, isn't it? Those other moves were being made with playoffs in mind, this move would be a step back (A necessary one at that) - we've seen nothing to suggest that they're willing to do that other than "rumors" - actions speak louder than words, and seeing Boeser out there on the ice should be really telling about which way this situation is heading.
But even if he gets moved, there’s no follow up deal.
Point to trade Boeser is to use assets for another acquisition.
Hour to go and absolutely nothing.
Which is an utter failure. Not trading Boeser, and then extending him at 7x$7.75M or something is the most Canucks move I can imagine.
Why.he needs to go.Russo just reported that he thought that Boeser and the Canucks had re-opened contract talks today.

I'm thinking so too. There's not going to be many upgrades over Boeser come July 1st.I feel like a Boeser extension is more likely at this point. Management always loves a good surprise.
Meh....I'd be ok if they re-signed him, as long as its a good deal.Why.he needs to go.
If contract talk is back, and both term and AAV are reasonable, OK fine.
But I get the feeling that this is nothing short of desperation, desperation to not look like failures.

Gonna be another EP situation where they sign him and start to regret it very quickly.
I think Aquilini being in the mix is f***ing a Boeser trade up.I wonder if Marchand possibly being in the mix is f***ing a Boeser trade up.
