The cap is projected to rise about 23% in the next few years. Which means if you want context on these long term salary obligations, knock off about 20% and you're seeing it in "today's dollars."

12m for Rantanen works out to ~9.25m in the current cap environment. Takes him well into his later 30s but, at that point any contender will probably be out of their window and the cap will be even higher.

Baffled that the Avs and Carolina couldn't make that work.

And now COL will have to play against MR within the same division lol, not sure why but that's just hilarious to me.

Yeah we are not a market that would ever be able to get a premium UFA (Rantanen and Marner) unless they are overpaid.

If this team does not have elite talent then they have to target one through a draft.
 
36 year old something Luke Schenn gets a 2nd and 4th. I swear to god we’re the only team that always manages to get underwhelming returns compared to others with the same caliber player.

We and the Canucks are losers. Everybody involved with this organization is a loser.

Bunch of idiots. We are totally going to be underwhelmed today as well. Be prepared
