Cole, because he signed a one year contract without the player option of a clause to prevent a trade. Should be granted that even without negotiating? He is a FA. Go for nothing IF something is offered?

Soucy, Iike the kid but his trade value is likely even higher than Zadorov's due to being RHD and on a very cheap contract. The team is and has been winning without him in the line up. His 28 game absence hasn't crippled the team.

But then why no rumours about a Soucy trade, especially out of Toronto? Zadorov lots. You know the team has only 3 regulation losses after the Zardorov trade.

He is going to get paid way too much. The cap will be even more crushing the next 3/4 years. He is an RFA so the team could trade his rights and still get a bucket full.

These are trade rumours I posting about, not trades that I want.

Zardorov was never going to be a rental. Too many posters forget 2 years ago when there were the rumours of the Canucks interest but no cap space, they tried for him when he went to Calgary on a one year contract from Chicago.

Cole and Soucy didn't cost the Canucks anything. The Canucks gave up a 3rd and 5th pick for Zadorov. It cost nothing to trade one of them.

The easiest to move? Why? Why move him at all?

There is no reason to trade Zadorov, so why the rumours?

I suspect this stems from nothing either then us here talking about trading and upgrading inefficient and redundant parts of the roster, which coincidentally all happen to be Russians. Kuzmenko getting traded crystalizing paranoia into conspiracy.

As the season goes I gain more confidence in the management group.
The team will make the playoffs.
What I had forgot was this team was very similar to Carolina when Rutherford did a 2/3 year build to win a cup.
The next decade was hard though because he gave up a lot.
That team had the size, what that team needed was skill. Harder and more expensive to trade for.

IMO the Canucks do trade ??? for Silverberg or Henrique. True rentals.

The team is first in the league and is actively trying to contend why would they trade players off their roster that are helping them get to that goal? They're trading under performing players like Kuzmenko to help shore up areas like center depth, pk etc.

Who cares if Cole walks for nothing, if he helps the team in the playoffs? Hronek might be expensive... but that's because he's been very very good and will help the team continue to be very good. You pay players like that. Mind boggling that doesn't make sense to you.

Podkolzin and Mikheyev haven't been in any real rumors besides fan generated. Even the talk around zadorov is murky because what the f*** does Don Taylor know.

And Tocchet is right. Mik is coming off a major surgery and was glued to Kuz the entire season for some reason even though it clearly wasn't working. I bet Mikheyev will be better off with better line mates.
