How satisfying is it having a management group that identifies areas of need, targets specific players, and is proactive in filling those holes rather than “living day to day”.

We went out and got our guy. Same with Hronek last year and it has turned out amazing. With Kuzmenko’s $5.5 off the books and letting Myers, Cole and Zadorov walk that’s trimming off the fat in order to resign Pettersson, Hronek and Lindholm.
We acquired a core player today and found out Tanev is coming back to fill one of Cole or Zadorov’s spot in the lineup. We just got miles better and finally got our RHS Center who is great on both sides of the puck.

I like Suter more than Duclair. Do agree that adding another top-6 forward (and a defenceman) should still be on the table.
'Rumor du jour' had Tanev being included in the Lindholm trade, but the trade request was just too rich for the Canucks to follow through on.
But obviously the Canucks remain interested.....maybe closer to deadline.....but they're running out of draft picks to trade. Still with close to $2m in cap space thanks to the Kuzmenko trade, they've got some room to add another d-man.

I'd aim higher. Someone that will push Suter down to 4C.
Doesn't have to be an impact player (couldn't afford one anyway) but just someone that wouldn't look out of place on like 2nd line wing.
time to get another depth dman or two? and another forward who can bang and crash. still have enough cap room? if soucy gets put on ltir until game 1 of playoffs? someone to replace nils aman.
