Necas, Jarvis, Nikishin, 1st would be an insane package for Pettersson.

Thinking it was more so Necas, Kotkieniemi, Nikishin/Morrow, 1st instead.
I would bet alot of money on the latter. Rumored six piece deal, Necas, Kotkieniemi, Nikishin, 1st for mik and extended EP.

I definitely would've taken that and not looked back but I understand keeping ep his entire prime too.

I think they could use someone who's physical and can create some space and be a good forechecker. Maybe Pod can impress there.

If that Carolina package is real we def should have considered it.

Jarvis is a great player and Nikishin could turn in to a extremely solid #2

The more I think about, the more I think that the best forward target is Toffoli. Proven chemistry with both Pettersson and Lindholm, Cup pedigree, scoring punch that won’t break the bank. Would need to clear cap in a separate trade but there’s probably a way to make it work without parting with any untouchable assets.

I agree. I was talking to a Devils fan and he said a 2nd rounder and a prospect would do. He suggested D Elias Pettersson but we all know Petey the 2nd is next to untouchable.
Toffoli would be a great target though.

Then sign Tanev July 1st and most of Bennings f***ups will be fixed.

Do you take Kuznetzov at 75% retention? At the very least you know he hasn't done any drugs for about 3 weeks.

I have been saying this guy for awhile. Get him on the pp he shoots the puck. Not like the others on it.If not him find someone who has some grit and size. Not holding my breath on the Kessel thing. The guy is so out of shape he can't even bend over to tie his skates.Never been a fan of his.

Because I like the historical symmetry of it, who is currently our Tyler Madden? Linus Karlsson? I would do our '25 2nd plus Karlsson for Toffoli with no retention. Then find a way to ship off Mikheyev in a separate deal.

If you think the rumour of Pettersson getting traded to Carolina disrupted Pettersson and the Canucks just imagine how the 5 or 6 rumoured assets in Carolina feel knowing they are not core to Carolina and are on the block.

If Carolina leaked this they are as smart as Nonis leaking Calgary rumours through his cousin Dreger-the Markstrom to the Devils rumours will likely have a similar effect in Cowtown.

Myers is week to week. Put him on LTIR and use his cap space for the deadline?

Not enough time to be eligible.. 10 games or 24 days
I think they can do it retroactively after he start sitting out.
I am not sure about when they can list him. At the start of the season there are quite a few put on LTIR before a game is even played.

I hope Rutherford/Allvin try for some long term "hockey" trades.
I would like to see Crouse from the Yotes.

Toffoli, one of the ones that got away.

I liked him, certainly wouldn’t say no to him - but he seems like a rental at this stage.
Who/what is Vancouver going to give NJ for Toffoli. I know the fan base is ready to ship him because he doesn't have the speed to keep up. He scores goals, but that's it. I know that "IT" is big, but......

Yeah I have a feeling we’re going to be walking away with Guentzel.

I think management wants someone that can play with Pettersson. McDavid has Hyman, Mackinnon has Rantanen, Matthews has Marner/Nylander.

With Petey locked up for the next 8 years, having someone like Guentzel on his wing for 5-6ish years would be amazing. I feel like they’re both going to dominate play together. Guentzel is a lesser version of Kucherov (not a slight on him at all)

Just wonder if they can put him on if there is an operation involved that will be weeks in recovery?

Off the bat we need to go into how long one must remain on LTIR in order to qualify and that is you are expected to miss 10 games AND 24 days. So, if a club plays ten games in less time or vice versa that player must remain on LTIR.

Apparently the requirement is if they put him on he has to stay on for 10 games or 24 days.

If the Canucks did put him on and then used his cap space he might have to stay there until the end of the season.

A loophole used by a few Stanley Cup winners

As long as it doesn’t involve Lekk, Willander, or Pettersson

guetzel is a good rental but i don't like the idea of extending him. he's turning 30, he's small and he's never played away from sidney crosby really. big pumpkin potential
This is my other concern.

I wouldn't want to pay Guentzel 8 million+ before he plays a game with us, team needs more size and grit to go up against Dallas, Wpg, Vgk, LA etc. Plus I don't think PA would unload all there assets for 2 big name rentals, there smarter than that.

No what you're describing is time bending and it does not exist
