Who/what is Vancouver going to give NJ for Toffoli. I know the fan base is ready to ship him because he doesn't have the speed to keep up. He scores goals, but that's it. I know that "IT" is big, but......

Rumor we are hearing around here is Ryan Johnson back to Utica for Toffoli+3rd.

guetzel is a good rental but i don't like the idea of extending him. he's turning 30, he's small and he's never played away from sidney crosby really. big pumpkin potential
I kind of agree with this, but the Canucks absolutely need to find an elite winger to play with Petey. And JR knows exactly how this works because that was the blueprint for success in Pittsburgh: find wingers for Malkin and Crosby.

With that said, you have to be patient, and we don’t know who is available. So it’s impossible to saw whether Guentzel makes sense.

I don’t think the Canucks will trade Lekkerimaki since he will be a cheap winger to play with Petey or Miller.

It would be nigh impossible to top an offer of Necas, Kotkaniemi, Nikishin, and a 1st. But despite all that, you are never coming out in a better position off the bat moving a 100pt C at 25

Of course everyone loves to speculate but the offer could have been Jarvis, Kotkaniemi, Morrow, and a first. too. Not quite as good. Could have also easily been Drury instead of Jarvis, or Kotkaniemi, as well. Maybe Heimosalmi, Pashin, or Trikozov being the highly touted prospect. It's really hard to take anything they say at face value anymore, much less get a firm grasp on what was offered.

I’d be curious what the package will look like without Willander/Lekkerimaki.

2025 1st, D Petey, Podkolzin, Raty? Idk if that gets it done.
2025 1st, Podkolzin, Raty seems inevitable. Don't think they move RePetey, willander or lekk unless Guentzels extension is pretty cheap/undervalue.

I'm not convinced of Guentzel being the perfect choice but certainly a candidate. For the cost Toffoli or Buchnevich might be better, but i think mgmt is locked on Jake and Buchnevich goes to Vegas.

I just dont see how this team has mik on it in a week if they're really trying to win this year, that cap is too valuable. With Dubas familiar with mik maybe guentz & Smith somehow?!

I would bet alot of money on the latter. Rumored six piece deal, Necas, Kotkieniemi, Nikishin, 1st for mik and extended EP.

I definitely would've taken that and not looked back but I understand keeping ep his entire prime too.
6 pieces on Carolinas side is what I read somewhere

If we can get Guetzel signed without giving up Lekk and Willander I don't care the price. You do it.

I don't think he'd fetch one of those two anyways unless it's one for one.
Word from the talking heads is that it’s two prospects/young players. Hoglander and Pod get it done with a bit of icing on top?

Thing is, contenders need their young players so it kind of possibly opens it up for us.

I just can't see this management group being that stupid.
I’m not sure I agree, everything in that package is replaceable, we would need to know Guentzel is going to re-sign.

Yes his age isn’t ideal and all that jazz, you sign him for $8.5-9 and hope to hell the cap jumps
For the next 3 years. Our window is somewhat limited by Boeser, Demko and Hughes all coming up and looking at some large raises.

 We would like anything positive arriving in Utica. The current roster is like one of Benning's creations in the in Vancouver's last years in Utica. Is Johnson a good AHL piece?

Big names are fun, but thoughts on Mantha(contract year so he’s actually trying and his skill/size is nice) and Alex Carrier(underrated dman who can move the puck and PK)?

Would need to LTIR hack with Myers or move Mikheyev though.

Hey BG, welcome back, hope you're doing well.
Thanks for the shout out. I miss a lot of you guys.
Doing well, but still having the same trouble with the farm that Benning always gave us.

NO CENTERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I keep peaking in and keep a low profile. I'm happy for you guys. It's been a long road back since day 1 with Benning.

The post you came in on was meant for NJ and I screwed up. Fixed it though. LOL

Just don’t trade Lekk or Willander.

Seeing Guenther put up 3pts today just provides a reminder of trying to go “all in” with a limited prospect pool and draft capital.

I’m fine trading Pod, Raty, etc. Heck, even Hoglander in the right deal.

But at some point you still need to have some prospect pipeline to remain consistently competitive.

From my viewings of Guenther, he hasn't really stood out in any way..Seems undersized right now.

It may take him 2-3 years to really hit his stride (Jared McCann).

Anyone else get the feeling that Lindholm could be flipped before the deadline, especially if they have eyes on Guentzel? If any management group would make a quick transition like that, it’s a JR led group.
