gonna be great when kassian doesnt get another contract here and goes on to be a super star on another team, and it will be something they will regret forever.

Gillis: "Ummm....Diaz....hello?!?"

Does Torts teach offensive schemes?

Torts is worried, I get it, but isn't his reaction just going to get his guys to grip their sticks even tighter? Further, scuttle the work Booth did this game? Insult his team and the player that showed the most during the game...

Want to make a short-term change? Dont collapse, open things up.

What was the excuse last year? Or the last 40 games the year before? Or in any of the last 3 playoffs?

The years under AV saw some poor offensive teams but at the very least they had some semblance of pressure and could appear threatening off the rush. This years teams offence has gone completely off the rails. They don't know what to do out there. Looks like they are trying to satisfy some sort of system rather than relying on offensive instincts.

Torts isn't sugarcoating it tonight.

"We need to change this hockey team. We were a slow team. Lack of offence. This really worries me" - Torts”

Wow.. He takes absolutely none of the blame... Unbelievable

The Canucks need a coach like trotz

Well with us playing Boston tomorrow and the coach calling the team out, you'd have to think we show up. If not, then Gillis needs to start trading core pieces.

Torts: "We need to change the complexion of our hockey club, either with our play or with different people." #Canucks

Pretty brazen thing for a coach to say!

Dan Murphy ‏@sportsnetmurph 10m
Torts sour. Says #Canucks need to change complexion of team. Also says Booth their best forward which is good for Booth, not good for team.

I think Torts just shot a public arrow across Gillis bow!

Thoroughly ****ing disgusted. And guess what? For the first time in what 10+ years we will probably lose to Toronto on Saturday. For me, that is rock ****ing bottom!

The one thing about changing this team is that the majority of our players are underperforming so that we will get crummy value for them and won't be able to add a big offensive element. Maybe another team will take a chance on an underperforming Edler. He's about the only player that I see that will bring us something back.

The lack of scoring is absolutely coaching related. I wonder if they will figure things out.

I honestly wonder how long we're going to have to suffer through this awful product on the ice before someone like Gillis clues in that this is EXACTLY why the New York Rangers moved on from Tortorella.

Torts is finally showing some signs that he is calling out the team..

Gillis will be gone before Torts though, we already fired AV

We've basically become the Rangers 2.0, and have all of the same problems they did. These games they just seem so listless and disjointed. Brutal to watch.

Really? The losing streak is enough without seeing Luongo hung out to dry with 6-0 and 9-0 scores.

Why? Everybody already knows our goalies have been our only decent players throughout all of 2014 so far.

And to be fair, 3-4 goals against Luongo, and 3-4 goals against Lack. It's not as bad when you look at it that way.

Who cares? This team needs some major changes regardless and that's the ultimate point Torts is trying to make.

The Canucks have had scoring problems long before tortorella came along. They were absolute garbage after the boston game in the 11-12 season. We don't have any decent goal scorers. Kes is the only one that puts up decent goal totals. There is just not enough high end offensive skill on this team. Even Kesler can't dangle well and we know how amazing the Sedins 1-on-1 skill is from shootouts. We simply have no players that other teams fear offensively 1-on-1.

Rags are no better under AV, so I don't think it's really that.

Torts is a smart guy, and has successfully coached high-end forwards and high-offense teams in the past. He needs to get away from his dump-and-chase obsession and be willing to turn the puck over a little more.

He said as much tonight: the quote was "We need to change the complexion of our hockey club, either with our play or with different people."

Well, Daniel Sedin and Alex Burrows aren't going anywhere so the complexion of your play better be what changes.

You obviously didn't listen to his pre-game interview where explicitly stated that the coaching staff was just as culpable as the players.

I was commenting on that statement... Not anything he said prior to the game
