only 1 thing matters at the end of the game...outscoring your opponent and WINNING the game, exactly what the Canucks did to a so called top caliber team haha!! A team that can't even win a playoff round

Thank you Captain Obvious. Any more revelations you care to share with us

Devils are not moving Severson for anything short of an extreme overpay.

Let's put it this way - If Zacha and Severson are heading to Vancouver, you'd better believe both Garland and Boeser are going back to NJ. (Not going to happen)

That deal gives us like 6 mill in cap space which is a lot for a cap team. I could see us doing that

I'd be fine with it, opens up a ton of cap space for us.

Poolman has a negative value contract.

Limited #6 D-man signed to 2.5M for 3 more years after this one (thanks Benning).

Sign me up as a very very upset close to accept. It's not a deal we should consider, it's not a deal I want to consider, but in a cap world with a .500 team it may be that we need to make a stupid trade as a penalty for bad cap management.

If it could be Boeser+Dickinson for Zacha+McLeod+ pick?

Again I don't like the value, but viewing it strictly as a cap type move it's.......argh.....fine.

Less of a drop off between Boeser and Zacha than trading Miller and whatever return we get.

Similar sentiments here... it's not a deal I would love to make but if the plan is the "quick retool" instead of "wait out bad contracts", we're going to have to bite the bullet somewhere.

I don't know if it's wise but it is what it is lol.

Just guessing, but I've got to think Severson has a lot more value to GMs than Boeser. 47 point pace, defensively solid, 6'2, right handed defenseman, and another year on his contract at $4.1 million vs. Boeser at $7.5 this year and (presumably) next year as well for similar point production out of a winger.
Looking at your $ for BB and what it will take from us to get him, shouldn't we really just consider Garland for the ask? I woudl rather chase Forsberg in FA. I know he is older but if we pickup BB we're done chasing Fwds. If we traded for Garland a gut like Forsberg is still obtainable. Forberg will want slightly over what Boeser is getting in real dollars right now, correct?

well the rumour says, vancouver is interested in zacha. i don't see many devils fan, who are dead set on keeping zacha. if the canucks want to trade for zacha, it's up to them to find a return/trade, which is acceptable for both teams. if the vancouver fan base isn't too excited about the rumour, that's ok.
What is this? I was talking about a Boeser trade. Devils fans don't want to offer much.

Switch Zacha to Hischier maybe. Devils fans overrate the shit out of their players.

Im spit-balling here, but i'm thinking there is interest in Zacha because the Nucks are looking at moving JT Miller. Could this be a precursor to a bigger move?

you are posting in a rumour thread, which says 'vancouver interested in zacha'. so the available piece from the devils seems to be zacha. :dunno:

Oh hey look it's the guy that watches tape on Damon Severson all day long.

For real though, I don't watch anything of Severson but was under the impression he was bad defensively. Is he a capable defender and gets a bad rep from earlier struggles (similar to quinn hughes after last years defensive troubles)?

He's fine defensively. Not great, but he's not nearly as bad as people make him out to be. BUT...the lapses he does have? Holy hell...it's like juniors level bad sometimes. But he's the type of guy that gets constantly judged on his very worst moments and the guy plays 23 minutes a night...sometimes 25+. Its just too much, sometimes. The really bad 2 on 1 that people like to throw up there? 29 minutes that night. 27 the game before. It was the last game of a month long stretch where he played one game with less than 25 minutes and two games with over 29. He's just not that dude, if you know what I mean.

We need that dude though. Myers gives us all heart attack already, but he brings a lot of other stuff to the table. Offense being channeled through Hughes and OEL mean we have very little need for more of that without filling our team need for a stay at home, defensively sound, RHD.
