if he's called back up, doesn't he have to clear again?
No. Recall waivers haven’t been a thing for years. If he stays with the team for 10 regular season games (where he plays) or 30 days he’ll need to pass through waivers again if they want to demote him. But not before

Wonder if they'll stick with Petan for the time being, or drop Miller to 3rd C and Dickinson to 4th.

Meanwhile, Bruins/ Rangers/ Sabres fans, how is Fogarty as a C? He's a big guy (6'3", 204 lb.) and has a good faceoff % at around 58%, could he at least be a solid 4th C? Thanks.

Mentioned him today as an option, big and smooth. Right d man but stuck behind a stud d crew in nyi

I think he’s got NHL potential. Not going to be a household name or an all star but definitely a guy capable of playing respectable NHL defense. Also doesn’t hurt that he’s spent the last few years in an organization with Trotz as a head coach.

RD that is defensive minded with experience unlikely to find on waivers unless it’s a bigger cap hit. Otherwise it’s a bunch of guys with limited nhl games that you are rolling the dice on and hoping you come up with a forsling, which is like once every few years on. Plus there was a prior connection with him and Q as he did clear waivers the prior season.

they are looking for a C who can PK. I take it that they are now unsure on the health of sutter throughout the season. So they are now searching for his replacement.

Good defensively and a hard worker. Complete black hole offensively

Why would Canucks leak that they are looking for players at those positions on waivers? It will now make other teams hesitant/come up with other plans if they have a player that fits that profile that they like onto waivers.

Makes sense. I think we could also be shopping for a guy who may be placed on waivers for a low draft pick.

I wonder if they look at Kole Lind for that 4th line/13th F C spot as the organization has a lot of familarity with him

Other teams have to waive players regardless to make their roster compliant. If anything it may drive some trade offers Benning way for guy who may be potentially exposed.
